My fault. I missed the "front" shaft drive. So I wonder how much of a delay that will be for the release date?

What type of track have they been testing/racing the car? carpet, ashpault, parking lot? Losi site states easily change from indoor to outdoor setups in minutes. Are they talking about shock movement, ride height, etc?

I think its pretty obvious they are talking about the front drive shafts("CVD thingy" ). The idea of having the rear belt driven but the front shaft driven doesn't make much sense. It also wouldn't work with the cars over all design.

Further back in the thread, a lot of conversation talked about how the outdrives are designed to work with the standard driveshafts or their "BK" style units.

Thats why most here figured that those(or something like them) are what they were talking about in this recent press release.

What I'm wondering about is two things...

-any delays because of the change

-how much of a price increase, if any, will this cause

now that i think about it, I bet the "breaking news" was just a ploy to get people to think they're getting something "extra" for the sake of a deley.....

Exactly, I've seen it and had it in my hand. It has a true constant velocity joint between the front drive dogbone and stub axle. It is even rubber booted. Smooth as silk even with the steering cranked over all the way in either direction as was demonstrated by Matt Francis.

I was thinking the assembly was going to be applicable for both ends of the car until I read the Losi post describing it as "front". Seems logical because of the angles created by the steering.

Yes, Losi could have worded this announcement a tad better to eliminate the confusion amongst the ranks.

Different front dogbone driveshafts to achieve different steering characteristics. Much like the rear of the offroad buggies and trucks. Like how you use cvds on some surfaces and dogbone driveshafts on other types of tracks. Same thing but for the front of the sedan.
