Hello Guys,
Have you also issues with XR's on asphalt?
After 2 runs, it's like tires are done. No more rear traction and soooooo many steering...
If I change the car setup, it's still the same...
Regards,
Nicolas.

What are you break in process? What tire sauce are you using? What are the track temps?
Typically you need to run 3-4 packs of battery through the tires to fully break them in. Sauce them fully and let it soak for at least 15 mins to 30 mins. I generally find these tires decent front end grip, but not so much that rear is sliding around.

@ETS Luxembourg, track was hot, then cold, but still the same.
@EC Hudy Arena, it was pretty hot, around 32° in air.
These tires was good on carpet, but on asphalt, it really pain is ass.

From the rumour's I've heard Ride changed the compound from last years XR
to this year XR to the soft way.
Even some people where running alu chassis @ ETS Luxembourg.
To get that steering away.

Weird, I run the XR on preped asphalt and get pretty good grip out of the tires. I get good enough traction I dont even bother saucing them or doing any tire prep.
Im not sure what type of formula or version of the XR I have but I have these for about half a year now, so I guess its the "old" formula. I get a lot more traction compared to Pit Shimizu 573/571 combo.

Hi there,
can you please give me advice for new tires?
I'll be running on unprepped asphalt low grip track (air temp from less than 20 to 30), and I don't know what to choose:
- new Ride GR (front and rear)
- Shimizu 571/572
- Shimizu 571/575
- Shimizu 573/572
- Shimizu 573/575
Thanks a lot for your help!

maybe even 574 front

What are most running on black carpet since the 571/572 combo is too grippy and tippy

CA on the front sidewall works wonders for traction rolling on black carpet.

I'm ran the Gravity tires for the first time at our last point series race. So much better than the Shimizu combos for me. Our parking lot track is prepped, but at most, we start low and build up to medium traction during the day. I was chasing X1 chassis setups for a while until last weekend on the Gravity tires. Not once did I spinout, and I was able to drive harder and more aggressively than ever. We run 21.5 F1. My lap times were on par with my USGT T4.
I did full sauce for 15 min and wiped before Q1. Did some warm ups but it seemed to take a while to get some grip. For Q2, I didn't prep and did about 5-6 warmup fast laps and they were dialed. Q3 I sauced only the rears, wiped right away and then just used the rag to wipe the fronts. That seemed to be the ticket. And I didn't bother saucing for the Main and took 3rd.
On Shimizu's I could do donuts for days. The Gravity's seem to have a harder front that keeps the car from doing donuts from a stand still. It's got a nice controlled push.
I'm using 2.0 silver springs in front and gold in the rear with 200k in the tubes.
