I'm a long-time nitro on-road racer, just staring indoor carpet TC. I saw the Tamiya USA site has the older TRF417 on sale for $399 free shipping. Mine should be arriving this week. I'm planning on racing 17.5/blinky at our club. Any recommendations for inexpensive motor/speed controller?

correct, on the arm under the outer hinge pin. 6mm downstops is around 2mm of up travel

I have been looking around but also been out of stock. I clicked on an ebay item and turned out this seller has them all. Well these ones at least. The Hudy ones are standard drives and TRF are mm.

The seller is Misa from HK.

Has anyone tried the v5 chassis and the smokem 417mx chassis. I dunno which to get, i already have the servo mount so i would need to worry about that

Man I really am not thrilled at all with the V5. Anyone know if they are going to release an update? I can't see spending another 200 on a raceberry set up for a car I have this much money into. It's just so damn on edge no mater what.

I can suggest two things that will make your car way easier to drive.

Run both the front and rear camber links in the inside most hole on the bulkhead making the links as long as possible. This makes a huge difference.

Rear DCJs. Expensive but it works.

so if someone had an original (i think) 417, which chassis, v5 or raceberry, is going to be the best bet for carpet, and which for asphalt?
