Drove a V5 today and threw on half of my setup on the buddy's car. It was "Easy button" easy. Definitely worth it to upgrade from the old car minus the shitty aeration shocks.
Too bad I already switched to Yokomo which I have to say is the easiest car I've ever drove. I just wish it had the sharpness of the Tamiya.

They need too much maintenance. Most people are willing to rebuild once a day not once a run. This is on carpet though so I can't speak for asphalt.

so use Associated 31238

im looking for a good setup for a low grip carpet on jaco blues in 17.5 blinky. i have a normal 417, all the tamiya springs and sways.
it's an awesome car, i just find myself fighting for grip half the time

Amen, I'm terrible on jaco blues too. I tried Jilles Snowbirds setup, but that did not work for me. I assume it works better on high grip carpet. To increase the grip I reduced static camber a bit and added some camber gain by lowering the inner camber link from 5 to 3.5 in front and 4 to 3 in rear. It was better, but I still was not nearly as fast as some of the faster guys.
