Any ideas what options to run for medium grip abrasive smooth asphalt on a tight track?
With the 417's date somewhat unknown, it seems like I could get a 416x if I have to swap out the right parts anyway since a lot of you seem to be running this car on carpet?

Nooooooooooo really. I hadnt noticed. I was merely stating that other than the refinements made to the 416x, the 417 is basicly the same as a 416x with lipo upgrade. I dont think most people could even tell the difference in handling etc between the two. Small refinements like a solid center motor mount bulkhead and bigger diff parts etc etc wouldnt make the car handle a whole lot differently. The refinements are really just added so the car can handle the extreme power of boosted mod motors that the pros are now running.

So what you're trying to say is that at worst the 417 will be as good or better than the 416X
