The added weight is most likely to increase traction on back end.. that is assuming it was placed on the rear part of battery tray.
The new M06R that is coming out, includes weights that will be clamped on to rear up rights to add rear traction. Run the car with and without weights and see which way it handles best. |
The weight runs most of the length of the battery compartment. Front and back. I just need to pry it all up and see what happens.

My M06, all stock, weighed in at 1141 grams with ESC Castle SV2, Silver Can, Specktrum Receiver and a Reedy Wolf 3000ma Lipo. Sweep 33's and no body. Adding the body took me to 1301. Car handled awesome and was very fast down the straights compared to some of the M03/05's. I wouldn't worry about the weight some much if you are competitive. With that said I would remove it and place it where it was needed or if needed as all. Whenever I have purchased a preowned RC, I always take it back to a stock kit build and tune from there. My M06 was a new Pro Kit build so it is all stock. Using stock oil, blues in front, yellows in the rear. Running -1 Camber. No traction rolls and I am pushing it hard through the corners. running it tonight for the first time in a club race, I am curious to see how it does in a pack of M03/05's. I am thinking it might get turned a lot.
I have now gone to -1 in front and - 2 in rear. Have not had a chance to test it out yet. |
We have decent traction on our carpet. I could get the rear around if I needed it to. I could also over drive the car into a corner and it would start to push. The balance felt great. Main focus was to keep the corner speed up. The best part about the RWD was that I could hammer the throttle out of the turn, jumping on the throttle earlier than a FWD. Since it is a momentum class, I think the RWD is better. Time will tell. My main concern is being bumped in turns and getting spun. FWD you can turn into and get out of the spin easy. RWD, not sure yet. All track time so far has been solo.

I had a chance to drive that m06 and it felt balance at many points in the track but it remains to see how they handle with a pack in the heat of mini mania bump and run. Specially corner exit...
Also drove a m05 and it was simply stable. Point and shoot but couldn't get aggressive on chicanes or it would traction roll |

I have yet to experience traction roll with this car. We're you running on carpet?

Hi guys, thought I would flash my heavily modified M06 PRO. I'm running longer suspension arms (TL01LA on the rear with trf415 hubs, TB Evolution II arms at the front, with trf415 hubs and knuckles) among other things.

What do you plan in running for a body?

Here's my setup .its basically kit with a few changes
Front Kit standard tires inside 2 lines sauced (SXT) Black springs with red Kit shock oil with 2mm spacer under 3 piston (trf shocks) 0 toe and 1.5 camber Ride height 5-5.5 mm droop is 3-4 mm Rear Trf shocks with no spacer 2 hole piston Black spring with gold dot and kit oil Ride height is 5-5.5mm droop is about 3-4mm S grips full sauce 1.5 camber 3 degree toe Note:this is run on ozite carpet medium length chassis Previously I ran this car with a whole different setup cause I bought it used but it handled like a squirrel on a leash .Now it drives straight down the straights and turns with a bit of push . This setup will allow me to be consistent and hopefully run better driving lines and improve lap times as well. |
Thanks guys for M06 info. Have been getting ready for some testing tomorrow on loose ozite. Just bought a Honda s800 body for it still figuring the paint job on it.

The 05 would traction roll not the 06. The 06 on that regard was more stable. Surface is carpet. I am leaning to buy the 06 rx7 kit at the local bobby shop.
