Default Reverse, is it worth having?

Did a search couldnt find anything, even google wouldnt tell me Should i set up my ESC so i have reverse or just break? The guy at my LHS said just having break is better, but wanted to get everyone else's opinion and why would just break be better? Thanks.

If you're racing, it's more than likely reverse will be against the rules. Other than that, it's more up to the driver's preference.

So it has no effect on the overall performance or breaking of the car? Thats what the guy at my LHS was trying to tell me Didnt make a whole lot of sense to me

as long as you stop before going to reverse i don't see why it would hurt anything . but some tracks do not allow reverse .( as said) if your just bashing there is no performance benefits that i know of maybe the pro.s could give some better in site

Its illegal in big races and frowned on in little ones. The reason is no one wants you backing up into traffic. However its great if you are practicing when there aren't any turn marshalls around.

If you're drifting, performance doesn't matter. If you're racing, its illigal to use anyway.

It's illigal in most races, because it's like cheating. If you hit a barrier, you'll have to wait for the turn marshall to right the car. So, in a way you're being penalized for bad driving. Going in reverse would basicly fly in the face of that.

Oh, and no one wants to hit a backing car.

It's good to have when you are practicing on non race days. Just disable it on race days.

If your club permits reverse ok. If your running a ROAR it's illegal. It may be permitted durng practice sessions only.
