Thanks for the insight (feeling pretty lame) Now I have another problem with the height being too high and I have the shocks fully backed off, so any more advice is welcome.

I'll certainly drop by and look at your rigs. :)

Thanks again,

turn the shock collars down equally in the rear until you get the desired ride height (5mm) is a good starting point, then the same for the front

first set your droop to factory settings. use the side of the ride height gauge against the bottom of the chassis. set the outer hinge pin at what ever the factory settings are, i think its like 5 front and 6 rear. we can adjust later at the cc. the run the collars all the way up to the top and then work them down till you get desired ride height. front and back.

Everything good now. I finally put in the dot 3 arm mount configuration and that lowered it enough to dial it all in. Of course, this was after I used the proper gauge. :o

Thanks all for your help.

Can you guys help me out on a good place to start with a D3 13.5T and a tekin gen 2 8.5T motor for gearing on a tc6.1 with gear diffs front and rear? Running asphalt.

3 Attachment(s)
So I picked up this used TC6.1 with a few mods done to run in CTA (VTA for you U.S. guys) and just finished trimming a Protoform 71 T/A body for it....ordered the HPI wheels and tires for it today, have a 21.5T motor coming and then onto a servo and ESC, both of which I'm undecided on.

I installed the TA aluminum screws for it last nite and found the ones for the top plate were flathead (countersunk)....only problem was the plate itself must've been changed and was made for buttonhead. I was going to get a friend of mine to countersink the holes but I found these red countersunk washers in one of my parts bins. I initially thought it looked good as it was nice to have a little more color than just blue/black but now I'm thinking maybe its a little out of place? Lemme know your thoughts please....

Arm sweep on 6.1wc

Hi guys new to touring cars and struggling with understanding setup. What is this arm sweep that I've been hearing about? I'm open to all suggestions, I run 17.5 blinky on a soda prepared asphalt. Slightly bumpy can anyone help answer my arm sweep question, and offer a good setup for the type of track I run? Thanks in advance everyone

Won't your fellow racers offer any advice on setup?

Hey guys

I just picked up a TC6.1 and I am wondering what sort of upgrades are recommended out of the box

Car will be driven on Asphalt and possibly carpet

Thanks
Mike

if the car is pre-Worlds edition, get the vertical ball stud bearing caps. http://www.amain.com/product_info.ph...-Bearing-Cap-B
and a gear diff
http://www.amain.com/product_info.ph...r-Differential
Thats really all you need!

p.s.- And DCJ axles for the front.

6.1wc setup

Thank you for your input on the arm sweep, but how is it adjusted on the 6.1wc? I know it's a noob question but I've asked at the track and nobody seems to know. Is it the lower shock mounting position? and I do get some help from the local guys. I was just wondering about some help with the setup, I didn't want to go off petit RC pro's setups.. I do race on a fairly smooth asphalt track, prepared with soda. The layout is one chicane and a few sweeping corners. That is why I am struggling with the setup because I can't find a "happy medium" to work well with our track. Like I said I am new at this so really any suggestions would be great! Thanks guys!

Set arm sweep the same exact way you'd set the toe in the rear, except up front it's called arm sweep. You just shim the front or rear hangars.
