Interesting dilemma showing itself here.
Specifications established by a governing body - "calibrated" equipment in production process - consumers using "budget-grade-un-calibrated" equipment to argue the validity/accuracy of the production process. :rolleyes: My understanding of the Motor "Checkers" is that they are only intended for individual (meaning yours and yours alone) benchmarking and tuning, also known as "checking your motor". Make changes to your motor and see what it does kind of thing - NOT verifying manufacturer specifications. |
There will always be some variation between motors. A $100 Chinese knock-off motor analyzer is the wrong tool to validate your claims.
The USGT motor is at least as consistent as anything else. Buy 10 21.5 motors from Trinity, R1, Hobbywing, anyone. There will be variations in inductance, IR, rotor strength, balance, sensor alignment, timing mark calibration, etc. At the end of the day, one board tap offsets most of the differences. Just race it. |
the Sky or Gforce is fine as long as you use the same one for all your testing or tech...for example if you have say 10 motors, and 9 read 29 degrees, and 1 says 36 degrees...more than likely, somebody messed with the motor

For the USGT tires, what are most doing to get rid of the bead down the center of the tire? Are you cutting it off? Do you just run’em until it wears off?

We tested the new Grey Wheel belted USGT tires here at 180 Raceway in Maryland ( high grip black CRC carpet )
they worked great, no glueing needed so far, no hint of traction roll yet we just grind off the center seam, tires break in with in 1-2 runs ( we rotated front to back too ) |

What kind of time advantage are you seeing w/the belted tires?

I put in an order for two sets of the belted tyres a few days ago. They should be here next week. Still will be here in plenty of time before the indoor season.

My lap times stayed about the same. Another driver claimed they his lap times were slower. The big advantages of the belted tires are the longer wear and NO GLUE on the sidewalls.
