Thanks! The window rivets were part of the decal set. The wheels are made by Ride and the tires are HPI Yokohama Advans (24mm treaded).

To clarify our tire choices in our club, we don't follow USGT in this regard. USGT has a $12 street price cap on tires and our our GT10 rules allowed for any treaded tire. Being a wear item, this became one of the most expensive aspect of the GT10 class as the top competitors were all running belted HPI X-patterns or 24 mm Advans. Those of use going into USGT already had these tires so we just carried them over.

Has there been any discussion of having a spec tire for USGT like USVTA has?

Thanks for clarifying that, RJ! For what it's worth, I think we may still consider running the USGT tires rules. We're just keeping it "open" right now to help generate more interest in the class. Things may change later on?

I was planning on stopping by the North store tonight for a few things. I'll check and see what treaded tires they have hanging and what price they're selling for. I know Larry tried some non-belted tires on Sunday. We'll have to follow up to see what he thought of them. A while back I ran a set of the Ofna treaded tires (the ones that come box stock with the JL10e) at the South track. It felt like they were soaked in Teflon and my car was plowing like a Cat D11. :lol: Last year Bill and I tried some of the $8 tires you can find on eBay. Initial traction was great! We ran them for two quals and that was IT... they were toast! Wish I would've taken some pics.

Not sure if we want to implement a tire limit just yet locally, but I am curious how other clubs are enforcing tire rules or if a spec tire was selected.

Can somebody explain to me what "light buckets" are exactly. We are having a 6 hour enduro up here in my area and I have come across bodies that have these. We are running two of the six hours without the lights on so we need to have working headlights and taillights to see in the dark.

I assume these are pieces to help keep the lights into the body securely. Is there a good reliable way to do it if your body does not have light buckets?

The tires we are using are D compound HPI X patterns or D compound Hpi VTA tires. I am going with the x patterns. Will these last 6 hours plus some practice time, or should I buy 2 sets. Motor is Novak 25.5's.

Any insights to this stuff is most helpful.

If using light buckets you don't paint over the headlight/taillight area. Just leave it clear. Then you can install light buckets (usually chromed plastic) via tape or Shoe Goo. They're typically drilled for either 3mm or 5mm LEDs.

Some bodies are sold with light buckets, but they're usually drifter style bodies. Nothing from HPI, for example, comes with light buckets that I'm aware of. If you check various drifter retailer websites or maybe TQ RC Racing, you can find some that may work with other bodies.

Actually, there are a number of HPI bodies that come with them. The Honda NSX and the Nissan 350Z for sure. I have those myself. But they are clear so you do have to paint them yourself.

Some of them do, but they're not the nice, chrome-plated plastic pieces you find with the JDM kits. They're formed in Lexan, but work OK for what they're worth. There were buckets with the HPI 2010 Camaro and the Ford GT. Sorry, can't seem to find the pics I had of them.

The HPI Corvette, 350Z, and Porsche 911 GT3 all come with buckets as well.

Must have missed the rule change a while ago.

Tire & Wheel Specifications:
Tires-Any treaded (non slick) non belted or belted rubber tire available 24 or 26mm. Must used a nonmolded (ex. open cell foam) insert or no insert. Grinding of tire tread is NOT permitted. Sanding of mold seam to remove seam is allowed
Wheels- Any 24 or 26mm spoke (non-dish) type wheel

While the above is the ideal for this class, a track, event, or series may approve a premounted tire, slick tires being acceptable. A spoked wheel is encouraged if possible for premounted tires

So you are probably within the rules already.
