Again, a misunderstanding, but not a big deal. I wasn't referring to "racing" (I'll be racing at NorCal)...I was referring to "practice", as in, during the week, as there's no one left in the Bay Area with a full-time on-road track (since Sheldon's converted theirs to a drift track).

However, someone else did mention about getting cones, and creating my own 'track' in an empty parking lot (not much different than how NorCal races on-road), which is a viable option. Just not sure how many cones I'd probably need, or what the cost of the cones might be. Truth-be-told, be as I type this, I'm sitting in the NorCal parking lot, waiting for them to open (any minute now), to pick up the HW XR10 Pro Spec ESC. I'll check with Eric, Dakota, or whoever is opening today.

This is how I practice.

Just curious, but what battery connectors are people using in their USGT cars? Are you using direct (ie. 4mm or 5mm bullet) to batteries with inboard? Deans? Something else?

I know some might think this a "dumb" question, but others will understand the reason/purpose for asking. Using my off-road vehicles as examples, while my 1/10 2WD buggy uses 5mm bullets & batteries w/ inboard, the remainder (all slightly larger vehicles, including two 1/8 4WD buggies) use (or will be using, once built) XT90.

my Touring cars are a mix. Some use bullets direct to battery. Some use dean connector.

5mm. I had 4mm before but changed to 5mm because my new packs are 5mm. I personally didn’t see a difference.

The difference is 1mm. :p However, I agree with you, doesn't seem to make a difference for car performance.

direct bullets for me

The difference might be 1mm, but the difference in potential contact area is large. 4mm has 12.6mm of circumfrence, and 5mm has 15.7mm of circumfrence. That's roughly a 25% difference in contact area (if you have a good plug....

I use 5mm bullet connectors as well. Yes a larger contact with said battery but I do it because of how clean it makes the car look. Might not be fast but I like to look like it.

26 mm rims are allowed so you may run a wider variety of rims. You can stretch the tire over a 26 mm wheel.

There’s a permanent track in Roseville and Ukiah.

Unfortunately, for general practice, both are quite far. Roseville is over 2hrs away, and Ukiah is over 2.5hrs away. NorCal (San Jose) is less than a 10min drive for me. Now, if I have a client pickup/drop-off up in those areas, and I know the timing would be right, I could take my car with me, even if I were to only have 1-3hrs of "spare" time...but, I've only had clients in the Roseville area 3x over the past 4yrs, and none in the Ukiah area.

Where are we with the AGATA body? That’s gotta be approved soon? No?
