I'm surprised you've included the mirrors, I would remove them as I wouldn't want bits flying off my car mid race lol

The mirrors on the RCF surprising durable and never once fell off no matter the severity of the crash. Interesting to see how the mirrors on the NSX holds up.

The trick is not to hit anything that would make them fly off. :D

Another member, and myself are in the process of putting a proposal of a "GT" style controlled class at our local club. The class would not only use control tires, but also a control motor (locked timing), and a fixed FDR ratio.
The reasoning behind this proposal are, to keep costs down, level the playing field, and introduce some "scale" appearance that members of the public can often relate to.

We've been following the progress of this thread to see how things pan out, taking notice of what's being said, and how any problems (if any) are resolved.

Thanks for all the thoughts, opinions, ideas, and of course the great pictures of the gt cars in this thread.

Rob.

What tires, motor and FDR are you aiming for? We've got a GT class over in Vic with Volante 36, Muchmore 17.5 fixed timing, 3.5 FDR. Would be good to get some parity between states.

I see that they have a line of fixed-timing, spec motors, too. They're available in 13.5, 17.5 and 21.5 flavors.

I second that

Rodarbal 09-15-2016 02:32 PM

Now wouldn't that be funny... just as VTA goes to several makes of motors, the GT class goes to a spec motor.

Same here.

There was a Pan Car Oval class in Phoenix at one time that ran the Hobby Wing fixed timing 21.5 motors and Just Stock ESCs. Great class, very equal. I would be happy to run that combination in any type of Touring or Pan Car. I've had great luck with all my Hobby Wing equipment. That's why I suggested that combination for the ISSC rules.

I can imagine some people not being happy that they need to buy a new ESC or motor to remain legal, especially if they just bought their current one.
