Ok itz rc real. Xstang isnt a real car either but its legal. When royalties to oem get so high bodies are going to be the down fall of only having real cars. The Rikirri is as gt as any other.

What car is the Rikirri modeled after...its kinda like an NSX but not? The Xstang is blatantly obvious that its a mustang....much like the PFM-10 is a Mclaren. If this is based off a real car let me know and we can address it but from everything that I have seen its not close to something real.

Fred from Tamiya has stated that the Rikirri is not based on any real car.

.....and it weighs 20 or 30 grams more than the MX_Stang or the Protoform bodies.

Truth, but this last weekend there was a Tamiya IFS NSX laying it down proper in Cleveland. Weight is important but it's not the only thing.

check your roll centers (put it on the lower hole mounts), 37.5-40 wt oil, stiffer springs and that should help .

The McAllister mx-stang is modeled after a real race car. Do a google image search for "AR Bodies Mustang" and see what shows up.

Of course, I'm still at a loss for why the NSX is legal for USGT and the Corvette Daytona is not????

I agree. The daytona vette isn't superior in handling to any other popar bodies. I post the same lap times with my hpi rx7 as the vette. I do receive many "cheater body" comments whenever i run the vette body though. The new pf camaro has a huuuuge splitter, as well as a decklid spoiler AND wing. I can only think that the daytona vette was removed from the list due to percieved performance rather than actually performance. It created controversy.

I just cut out a mx-stang body last week. I'm looking forward to painting it and giving it a try.

The reason the Corvette DP(Daytona Prototype) is not allowed is to close the door on any form of Daytona Prototype bodies being raced in USGT. It had nothing to do with the performance of the body....we have ran the body and it does not hold any advantage. There were more people asking us to close this door on DP bodies than we had ask to keep it open so we decided to close the door. Sorry to Gary but like we have said all along if you want to race this body or any of the other DP bodies check with your local track and see if you can race it. Just know that under full USVTA rules that no DP bodies can be used as of 8/1/16. The reality is that the MxStang is in the top 3 of USGT bodies out there....dont be afraid to run it as it works really well IMHO better than any of the PF bodies out there still in production.

Hey Kevin- I know we talked this over, and I don't really want to rehash an old conversation. But when Rob mentioned the NSX doing so well, I just can't help but wonder why it is allowed when it looks very much the same conceptually as the Daytona bodies. Are there no complaints about those Prototype bodies? It seems like we are talking semantics of labels given to bodies, not how they actually look.

Im not trying to beat a dead horse....but its not semantics of labels it comes down to what actual class they were raced in. The NSX was raced in the Super GT series in Japan in the GT500 class. Your Corvette DP is modeled after the car that raced in the Daytona Prototype class, which just happens to be the door that we closed. Again it has nothing to do with looks or performance it was just a door we closed because racers were asking for it.
