Hmmm... where do we start. Ah yes, page one of this thread!
Just kidding...
I'm assuming you've already gone through the USGT Rules. There really wasn't an "old spec tire," but when we started our GT class many of us gravitated to the HPI belted tires in the pro compound. The non-belted D-compounds were not all that great and depending on your track conditions you may find yourself struggling. Our club (which races on asphalt surfaces) is still open on which treaded tires to use, but several of us do like the new USGT spec tire from RIDE. Not sure what else to tell you other than to get that TC6 on the track and have fun! Just make sure your club is OK with you running those tires.

Remember, more downforce or not, that's not why I'm personally anti-prototype. When I think of GT cars, I think of the Pirelli World Challenge series. And I love the scale details some of the GT bodies have these days. But alas we've evolved mostly to USGT rules so technically you're fine, Bill. I just hope the rest of our GT field doesn't follow you and Steve down the, um... uh... "Dr. Pepper" road.

My TC6 was previously ran in this class last year by the previous owner which is why it has the older x pattern tires on it. For club racing they won't mind me running them. I do plan on getting the Gravity RC Ride tires though, probably a couple sets since I have 2 full sets of 24mm wheels ready to go.
I'm anxious to get my TC6 on the track next week. I didn't expect this to be all too much different over VTA other then open blinky esc and open 21.5 motor.
