That would be a major goof-up!
Anybody have photos of the grids lined up before the races? I guess it should be on the video as well.

Shane, they did a mock start for the A mains and there were a lot of photo's taken of the grid,as none were to be allowed at the start of the actual mains. We are checking Toni's camera right now. She has several partial shots of cars going to grid. If you want them they are yours.

Well, here's Billy Easton, who should have been car #6. I've got a shot of the grid, and I'm pretty sure Billy is in the #5 starting position.
And here's Surikarn:

Also, if anyone is looking closely at the photos I posted, they don't match up with the race results. According to all the printouts, in the A-Mains, Billy Easton was supposed to be car #6, and Surikarn Chaidejsur was supposed to be car #5... but if you check the photos, Billy ran car #5, and started from position #5. Surikarn ran car #6 and started from position #6. Apparently both of them had the wrong numbers on their car for the whole day, and neither realized it?

that's funny!!!! wrong numbers on cars that went thru tech at the worlds. Please say its not so. 4 years ago this state damn near wrecked a presidential election and now we don't seem to be able to count any better!

I am surprised that an error of that magnitude could happen. I'd hope that there is some other explanation.
Or maybe they just wanted to keep it interesting for us netizens.

I have no idea how they ended up with the wrong car numbers. the system has them correct, the goof up is between them apparently.
Neither were DQ'd or penalized for anything during the mains, so the outcome wouldn't change from the car numbers being wrong...
well, I guess they could be DQ'd for having the wrong car number if IFMAR says so... no clue, not my call, I ain't touching that one with a 100 ft extension cord...
