I did some tests on the chassis to measure the bending and torsional stiffness. Check out the results and let me know what you think.

I saw him run this chassis (V7.1) in Ottawa...
He was doing good even though i think he told me it was his first time racing with foam tireS?
Anyways, very nice car and looked very consistent!

To my eyes, V7 looks stiffer though...

good luck Bob with your chassis! looks like it has some real potential!

Heh Steve, thanks for the feedback. I had fun saturday night in Ottawa. I now know the chassis works well with foams on carpet. It certainly is a switch from running rubber, lots more grip as you would expect. Need a little more time to experiment with setups though. I was getting close at the end of the night.

You are partially right about the chassis stiffness, the V7 chassis is slightly stiffer in torsion but the V7.1 is much better in bending. The overall performance of the chassis is a combination of these two properties so you have to look at both to determine which configuration is better.

There are some stiffness test results posted on the website if you are interested.

Hope to get back up to Ottawa soon. I know I will miss the next race though.
