The other key to the original post is in the Part numbers. Old body sets would be a 50... part number, and a very new body set is a 51... part number. But these new body sets are a 84... part numbers which is the limited release set of part numbers, and is a newer part number string.

Default swingshaft binding!

Ok,
This is an old topic and I've read all about how you have to flip the diff and make sure the diff adjustment is on the correct side. I've done all that but I have a fit issue with the 46mm universals. I'm running the aluminum diff halves and the plastic ears for the dogbones, with TB03 axle shafts. The left side (where the adjustment screw access is) is fine and has several mm of movement in/out. The right side, however, is hitting the end of the diff screw and binding the suspension. There's ZERO movement on that side. The diff screw just seems to be way too long!

Anyone ever figure out the magic for getting the aluminum diff halves, plastic dogbone protectors, and 46mm universals to fit? Do I need to cut the diff screw down, or did I somehow manage to screw something up?

Just swap sides on the diff. Put the diff nut on the side were the diff screw goes and the diff screw on the side that the nut goes and it will work.

I tried both flipping the diff around and actually rebuilding it with the diff nut on the other outdrive and the problem always follows the diff nut side. It looks like I need 44mm dogbones or there will be a bind. How close are your outdrive protectors from the diff screw end?

You are supposed to use 44mm shafts

When you look at the parts listing on companies like RCMART, they list the 44mm shafts as usable with the FF03. I have installed the 44mm shafts in my FF03 ... haven't run it yet but no binding issues

Do you have the aluminum outdrives and dogbone protectors? I'd like to see a pic of the side with the diff nut if you can get one.
