I think there isnīt that much RC oval in Europe as in the USA.
I have heard there was an oval scene in the UK some years ago but I donīt know if this is also currently. In Germany I have heard there is some oval racing in Berlin but I think itīs not very much. |

Thanks for the help guys.

I think the Pro4 is very fast on big tracks but seems to me not that fast on very small ones. Itīs a good car for sure but I still prefere the Tamiya cars. Also I donīt like that purple too much.

I was fortunate to watch a good deal of their duels, they were FANTASTIC. Lots of mutual respect.

Amen on the purple, just a personal thing though.

V12,
I think one of my questions got burried in the F1 discussion  You mentioned a new suspension? Is that for the 415? Also you mentioned a couple of things on the IV which you didn't particularly like - what where they? Cheers, Mark. |
I had the 415 and I'm a bit frustrated with it. It takes a lot of patience to make it work. I remember when I got the EVO 3. That thing hooked up out of the box and my skill went up a notch right away and if my guess is right the Evo 4 would even be better.
|
Are the suspension parts not almost identical or identical to the EVO III and the TA04?
|
Mark
Tamiya just released the EVO IV suspension as a complete kit working for the EVO III or the 415. What I donīt like with the EVO IV? I donīt think that multi-piece gearbox is a good idea. OK itīs aluminium now but you have to adjust this and even the designer of the EVO IV said in an interview he doubt the average driver will be able for this. So if you have the Square aluminium gearbox you will have the best gearbox available. Very strong, each gearbox is the same and itīs so easy for working on. The other thing is Iīm not sure about the new suspension. Uses some very small 5x9 wheelbearings instead of the proven and very strong 5x11 bearings. I didnīt have much luck with those small bearings so I donīt like the idea using them again. Also the longer arms will not be the perfect choice for smaller tracks. Another thing I heard some wheels arenīt working with the new suspension anymore as they touch the arms. But the good thing is there are now 2 different c-hubs 2° and 4°. |
Suspension parts are almost identical with the EVO III and the 415. But the EVO IV suspension is completely different.
No existing part from the EVO III or 415 could be used with the EVO IV. |
Thanks again for the info, V12 - I think I need to catch up a bit on the Tamiya news :D Seeing as it is impossible to run Nitro at the moment, due to all the rain, I had better pollish my EVO and get it working again :D
