Hey Guys,
I tried alot of new things this weekend and decided that the setup i posted last weekend was the best with just a few minor changes. I went to magenta fronts and gray/white rears cut to the same size that i normally cut them(1.620 front and 1.670 rear). I glued the rear tires just at the rim to keep them from chuncking and glued the front a little bit up the sidewall. I went with the new 2mm higher standoffs and kept the 6 degrees of caster. I went to 4 degrees of caster with the stock lower standoffs and the car pushed. I went to 6 degrees of caster with the stock standoffs and the car was good but needed to roll a little more in the front so i went to the 2mm higher standoffs and that cured it. I was right there in lap times with jeff brown and mike bruce. We had a train going for most of the race. I made a few bobbles and fell back a little but still managed to stay right on pace with them. Those guys are awesome drivers so i know if i am hanging with them, my car is very good. In the main i tried a few more changes to see what they would do and it was a very bad idea.lol It was not pretty. After i hit a few things i managed to knock my camber off on one side and the car was looping to one side. I still finished but not how i would have liked. I guess you need to try things to find out they dont work . I am very fortunate to be able to run with guys like jeff and mike. It helps me to guage myself. Its nice to bounce setup ideas off of mike, jeff and jeffs father larry. They are all very knowledgable and i enjoy racing with them. It also helps me to become a better driver and forces me to be on my game. My setup is there, i just need to drive the wheels off of it to catch these guys.
