My motor comes right out of the bottom of my L4. I have to turn it a cretain way but no pressure needs to be applied. I put the pinion end in first then have the motor at an angle down and to the back and it slips right in. you may also have to rotate it around to find the sweet spot.

I had the same problem on my L4.. If put the pinion side up first and rotate the motor so that the flat sides are perpindicular to the chassis, the motor should just slide right in. Then you can turn the motor however you need to..

What motor springs would you run on an 11x2? 4 cells, med sized carpet track.
Thanks. |
red on positive, green on negative

RC12L4 Front axle
Running TRC foam, the one shim as per manual seems to leave to much play. Should I add more shims to inside or outside of wheel?
|
adding on the inside slightly reduces steering (since it widens the front track), adding on the outside is neutral

Wait till you see the BMI pod plates and lower pod plate, I had a pinion on my motor and can drop it right in with no twisting or turning... lots of room :)

Yea the BMI rear 12L pod is sweet. Lots more room.

rear pod
is there any additional flex'ing as a result of the more room from the rear pod?
Otherwise the obvious question is why the other manufacturers haven't made the same change earlier? |
Barrys...
There is less flex do to the left side pod plate is aluminum and mounts in two places on the top pod plate not one like the 12L4. The graphite is also 2 1/2 mm thick which gives more strength, and looking from the bottom the left side of the lower pod plate has an arc to it to give the motor even more room to fall in. Even with the thicker graphite and aluminum left side pod plate, with a light weight Parma body, personal transponder, small reciever and GM speedo the car is under weight by .2 oz. Wayne |
The motor comes out the bottom of my 3.2 knife. No need to remove top screws here.

REV 4!

Hi TJ,
How are you doing with your 12th? Last year you whipped James Arluck into 2nd and me into 3rd at Stockton. I think it was the north west championship meeting. I was running a rev3 at the time. You have any setup tips for the rev4? Chris Rhodes. |
