Thanks for the reply, I am aware that setup would be fat better. I still need to know whether or not those 4 cell packs will fit or not?

This setup is for a younger rookie driver so speed is not important at this time.

Honestly, I doubt many have even tried a nimh battery in anything current. It’s easy to turn the throttle down off the controller for a younger driver then to use batteries to limit power.
Hello I am wondering if a 4 Cell EP Nimh battery with the dimensions of 93.5x46x24mm fit in the Schumacher Atom 2 GT12 chassis?
Yes, it should fit in no problem.

The shorty lipo pack is designed around the size of a 4 cell nimh pack, so any car designed for a shorty lipo should fit a 4 cell nimh pack

1s lipos these days typically have a height of 19mm or less. Add in that any chassis made since 2010ish and newer doesn't have cell cutouts, and a 4 cell NiMh pack isn't likely to fit.

I would expect the center shock on most cars to be the biggest interference.

Batteries keep coming down in price while improving in performance, so the best bet is to use a battery the car was built to use and slow it down with motor choice and throttle end points, if further slowing is needed.

My car is underweight by 6 grams. Where is the best place to add the weight on a 1/12 pan car?

Remove the pod and use the weight to balance the chassis.

Do tires wear more using a spool? I raced today and noticed my tires were a lil smaller than I'm used to finishing the day.

The rears somewhat cone due to a spool

When truing tires, cutting a 45 degree straight chamfer bevel into the rear tire may help reduce the cone-shape wear. It also seemed to give a better driving feel than a rounded edge, as it makes it harder for the car to "roll up" on the edge, which can cause lifting of the inside rear or even traction roll.

I always had a gift for burning off 1/12 tires.

Roll up and traction roll even with Cleveland size tires? I'm not being smart I'm just new to 1/12 scale.
