I have run my 12 scale without a reciver pac and capacitor. It will run fine till the voltage drops off in the batteries. When running oval for four minutes I didnt have problems, but for 8 min on road it was a problem after the 6 min mark.
So I intsalled a cap without a reciever pac and had no problems with it cutting off.
But because I like a faster steering response I oppted to run a reciever pac just 5 2/3 aaa's @ 150 mah . They can last me 18 minutes, but I still repeak them after every run. Just added saftey!

Calling all old school guys—I'm searching for a NOS or unused set of the original black TRC (10-hole) wheels with blue/green compounds; with 2-hole rears. They are for a restoration project, so at this point, new wheels (front & rear) would be great as well. PM me with what you have... :D

I ran the new Spektrum Micro Rx (3500) yesterday. I had no problems running:

Q2 ESC
CO27 Stock Motor
ProMatch IB3800's
KO 949ICS Servok
Spektrum Micro Rx (3500)

No issues going into protection mode even after about 11-13 minutes of runtime.

Pic is attached. I had ewippler (makes the cf shafts for TC4, etc.) make some custom standoffs for the 12L4. Looks REALLY sweet. CF standoffs with blue aluminum ends. Totally unnecessary but looks different.

dr- Whats ewippler's email? and do you know if he would be willing to make anymore?

dr_hfuhuhurr 07-24-2006 09:20 AM

He said the short one was a pain to make. He'd probably make more if people wanted them.

This is what they look like pretty much...of course the right size for the 12L4 (pic shows TC4 kit)

DR! I am glad that its working correcttly, they said the updated version had the -BEC- up to par! I was holding back getting it if the same problem persisted. I guess its time to go get one!!

man,i guess im one of the lucky ones.i run the origional spektrum receivers in both my mod brushless touring car,my 19 turn touring car and my 19 turn 1/12th.never had a problem.it goes into failsafe when the battery is dumping hard with nothing left but the cars are about useless at that point anyway.

Jason and Adrian you guys want to run mod at minregg? I am sure Potter and Marcos might be up for it!

AdrianM 07-24-2006 05:20 PM

I'll do it. I have a bunch of wrap tires that are too thin to run on asphalt but should be fine on carpet.
