Zip Grip is Trinity's verison of Paragon Ground Effects. It works well.

FYI, Schumacher does not sell Zip Grip :)

You can buy the one I have for sale :) Or you can buy one from Stormer Hobbies.

Zip grip is not to bad on carpet either. Our club had to go to this stuff a few years ago as our carpet track was in a public mall and we had to keep odours down. When we moved the club wanted to keep clear of paragon as many racers complained about its strong odour. We recently switched over to JACK THE GRIPPER as our only club legal juice...

When we ran nitro sedans outdoors though we all ran paragon over the zipgrip.

TQ 8+ worked well in my 1/10 pan car days. It had just a slight orange oil smell. Smelled good. Reminds me, anyone remember how Maxtec motor spray smelled like fruit loops!!!! Then we tore the label off and saw that is was actually Japanese brake cleaner. The old label was still under the maxtec one. SWEET! ;)

Just read Mark payne's diff building piece & thought this may help out - Mark uses T-cut to grind in the diff bearings. Cheaper & more accessable substitute - toothpaste!!! Used to use it when I used to race BMX for exactly the same purpose.

I think it's another wonderfully helpful piece!! Many thanks for the ongoing time and effort.

Thanks guys, great advise - suntan lotion gave 8+ min of great traction. Did awesome in my 1st 1/12 race!

I ran a Stock, but now I want to get a 19T. I have invested way to much in high end laydown brushes with my Sedan Stock setup and would prefer to get a motor that uses them.

I've been looking at Chameleon 2 and Komodo; Trinity's web site for Chameleon says it uses laydown brushes, but their Brush web page says the Standup brushes are for all their 19's including Chameleon 2. The Komodo page doesn't say which brush type it uses nor does it give RPM/Torque stats, it just implies that it has more torque when it says it's better for heavier cars. I suspect RPM is king in 1/12, so I was leaning towards Chameleon 2.

Are both of these laydown brush type? Which is higher RPM?
Thanks.

The cameleon 2 uses stand up brushes...

Chameleon 2 uses laydown brushes... http://www.teamtrinity.com/shop/motors/chameleon2.html

Their adjustable timing 19t motors use stand up.

Still Bill 06-04-2006 08:38 AM

C2 has laydown for sure as BB says.

If you are racing, the C2 is ROAR approved while the Komodo is not (yet!). May also depend on what your race track allows.

bill?? according to roar its been good since may 1st.

Super Stock 19T Trinity Epic Tri 12003 Komodo Dragon Lt. Green Can, laydn br. .312 com 5/1/2006

that line should answer everyone's questions.

RaceBucks 06-04-2006 03:22 PM

Good that they are legal and laydown.
Thank you.

Is one higher RPM and the other higher Torque, or is the Komodo better at both?
