Saw him at the reedy race .. told him to read his email

You could also call top usa to get tires. Michael OD can help track him down worst case..

The Solaris website looks like you have to email to order, but it looks like you have to be a track to order. I also found Misfit, Speedtech and Timezone have pre-mounts but most are out of stock. Muchhobby in Cananda has them premounted as well. Would like to find some tires only though. Any ideas?
Hi. Shoot me an email [email protected]

Thanks!

Hi EJ! Congrats on winning the 2012 ROAR Nationals Bid! The tires worked great at the Nats last year at Jackson. I hope I can make it out to the 'Second City' for this year's event...

I'm getting weird wear on the inside of my tires. They develop grooves. Is this typical? Running 21.5 with 1.5 degrees camber and liquid gravity traction compound on asphalt.

pretty typical for rubber tires on asphalt.

you can greatly improve tire life by:
1- swapping from left to right each run
2- looking into the amount of camber you run -- sometimes you need more, sometimes less.

Never had this issue in 7 years of asphalt racing. This is my first season racing Solaris. So is the more a Solaris thing? Through the years I've ran cs27, speedrex and jaco blues without issue.

No it's no a Solaris thing. Every tire (Solaris, Jaco, Sweep, Muchmore, Xenon, Sorex, Take Off, RP) i've ran wether it's on carpet or asphalt does this. It happens to everyone.

If it has not done it in the past it's mostly likely because your setup was off (not as fast as it could be), or you were not driving the car vary hard (not driving as fast has you could).

I'm sure if you look at the tires of anyone you race with, there exhibiting the same thing.

How many runs are on those tires?

Others are not. I ran really well with those other tires so I must have been doing something right. . I will chalk it up to not being uncommon. Those tires had 5 runs on them.

definitely get the same results on the tires, as does everyone I race with, not uncommon, maybe some of the guys replace their tires before they get to that point?

I have seen that ribbing on every tire I have raced. As stated before, generally related to camber. Racing in Fla, with the high track temps, we shake out issues with tires pretty quick. We have been running the Solaris premounts for a few years, and they have been very good. Not the stickiest tire, not the best wearing, but right down the middle and very consistant.

I just ran a brand new set of Solaris tires (hard) yesterday at Jackson
12 runs 17.5 blinky, just started to get the ring of death.

And that's without rotating them! Very very happy with the performance!

You are the first person in the history of Asphalt racing that has never seen the ring of death. Can you let us know how? Please.
