Hey guys,

It's been a while since i had to take a break from rc. I am trying to figure out what gear ratio i need to run in my Mi3 for the 540 stock class (ie running the 540 Johnson silver can motor) Will also be running lipo batteries.

Currently i have 31/70 in the car, is this ok or should i be using a different ratio? What FDR?

Thanks.

we normally run our silvercans between a 5.8 and 5.0 depending on track layout. I would look at a bigger spur the johnsons like it.

Oh ok, well i was told before that an FDR of 4 - 4.05 was the way to go for the silver can.

The only other thing I've seen done is modifying the steering hubs and spool outputs, then using Xray's ECS driveshafts.

I have been told by the guys that have done it that it works extremely well.

I believe standard, but they had to be filed out to accomodate the thicker Xray style blades.

Ill show ya next time I see ya dude, I still havent been able to get it off.

On another note I'm thinking of picking up a brand new SpeedPassion GT v1.1 cheap and just wanted to know if there is any upgrade software available for it? Also is it good enough to power a 5.5 brushless motor?

Cheers
Adrian

The 4 blue o-rings are for the Cat SX, the clear o-rings are for the TC shocks

That sounds like an awesome idea, what is mi3's length of driveshaft? and what other mod do we need to make it work? just file away the spool slot to fit xray's blade?
