Sorry but isnt that part of holding the Nationals, you do get payed by ROAR for hosting the event??

The flyer I downloaded doesn't say anything about "Reserved pit spots".

The nationals I have attended never had reserved pits it was first come first serve, except for Teams that would sponser the event.

Aaron Young said I need to get inner touch with my inner fat kid and shouldn't post until I do so I erased this just for him.

Default Jaco WGT Tires

Picked up two sets of the new Jaco WGT spec tires from NorCal Hobbies last night. Thanks for getting them in guys...

Trimmed one set down to 55mm tonight and produced the biggest mess I have ever made from cutting a set of foam tires. The yellow area of the front tires is really soft...and messy.

Come to think of it. With the yellow band being so soft, how do these tires comply with the control tire specification for the WGT class? With so much yellow, these fronts are at least bordering on being dual compound tires.

Is there a rule change for WGT control tires? I thought the control tires by the various manufacturers were supposed to be based solely on the Lilac compound.

I know...Ask ROAR...

Thanks. Bill

Whoa! I didn't know Jaco changed their spec appearance. All I had ever seen was the CF wrap on the wheels with solid black foam. Perhaps the yellow section is still Lilac, but just yellow in color and not compound?

So can we run the Solaris with the Black rims OR the White rims???

The "Flyer" only says Solaris Hard, same with Roar's website.

I don't think you can bring your own tires to the race. I think you need to buy them at the race...

I believe Roar changed that rule a few years ago. Yes its still a "handout" tire but you can buy the specifed tire were you want and bring them to tech unopened.

I found this from the Roar rule book.

12.4.7.4 Handout or controlled procedure:
 The Host picks the tires to hand out. Any business agreement is between the host
and the tire's provider, not ROAR.
 For control purposes, the participant will present unopened packages of tires
selected by the host to be used at the event to the ROAR RMT Technical staff
prior to the start of qualifying.
