Default Wheel Offset... is this right???

Was looking for 1/10 scale touring car wheels for a 200mm body on a T2 007 and came across RC Planet's website but the description of various offsets does not make any sense! They say that a 9mm offset will fit wider than a 3mm! In the real car world, it is the other way.

Am I missing something...

Read below: These wheels are available in 3mm, 6mm and 9mm offsets. 3mm offset gives a slightly wider stance to help fill out the wheelwells. Owners of 190mm electric cars can use our 6mm offset wheels if they want to use 200mm bodies. Throw on a pair of 9mm offset wheels for a super wide look.

Your conclusion os correct. Big cars and R/C cars are exactly opposite in how they measure offset. A 3mm offset R/C wheel will have a wider track than a zero offset wheel.

Thank you. So, if I have a T2 007 and I want the fitment to be "flush" with the fenders, what are the possible offset/body width combinations that I can run?

I.e. 200mm body with 9mm offset or 190mm body with 6mm offset, etc???

190 mm body with 0 mm offset

The xray is supposed to be 190 mm wide. You should choose the body according to your chassis, not try to adjust your car to a body.

My 2 cents.

BTW excellent choice, the 007 is a great car.

With a standard 190 mm Electric TC chassis X-Ray T2, Cyclone etc... you will need to run either a 3mm front with 6mm rear offset to be flush with most 200mm bodies. Some "wider fender/body kit" 200mm bodies require a wider setup (ie. 9mm rear) Although most of the time the 3mm/6mm combination works best.

This photo shows a 6/9 combo, looks good for photos but for running, 3/6 would be better (to prevent fender rub)

The below 200mm MR-S is on a 190mm spec Cyclone TC with a 3mm/6mm combo.

Just roll the fenders... lol

Thanks for the feedback guys... I guess flush doesn't work too well for r/c but at least I now have an idea about proper fitment. Thanks.

Here's my electric 4TEC with a 200mm body on the 190mm track. The picture below is with a set of Tamiya 4mm offset wheels and Duratrax slicks. Not a hell of a lot of difference.
