Panasonic`s seem to be da cells of choice....
winter nats will confirm this .....
I myself have not found any one with the Hv`s to be all that impress with those cells, with the common complaint being flat & no punch...

Ive actually noticed something different. in stock the stock metals seam to get flat real quick in the run. the sanyo hvs dont. also the runtime of the stock metals decreases pretty quickly, at least the ones Ive ran. I havent ran my new hvs enough to grade the runtime, but the punch is better than the panasonics....

I have some stock metals and the run time has decreased in the last few months and I've heard from my battery hook-up that the hvs won't and that they are better for mod

I have both Stock Metals and High Voltages and I personally feel that the High Voltages perform better through out the whole race while the Stock Metals tend to fall off a little.

I have run both in stock and mod racing
i have founf that the SMH are better at the beging ouf a run where with the HV are better towards the end. It all depends on where you want more punch

I would not use any results from the Snowbirds for comparison.

There were ten or so of us that had a legitimate chance of winning stock sedan......and it was about 50/50, smh/hv. I know the fast lap for stock was a 12.9, and I know many of us ran a few 12.9's over the course of qualifing with both types of cells.

Personally, I ran HV's. I tested them back to back many times...the laptimes were the same. The HV's just seemed a tad punchier to me. I don't think they go flat in the race, I think they are just punchier early.

Likewise, I think the smh feel the same all through the run....due to the lack of high initial voltage.

That is what I think.

I agree with Ron, the SMH's felt much more punchy in stock than the HV's. Trust me, I have some HV's with awesome voltage and I charged @ 7 amps. But for some odd reason, I couldn't tell the difference in 19 turn rubber. In fact, I kinda liked the HV's for 19 turn. It was probably just a mental thing though. Matt Francis says the same thing about the SMH's- they feel punchier and he gets slightly better lap times with them. I know he's a Trinity driver, but he always tells it like it is- so I believe him.

Don't forget that Trinity driver's have access to both types of cells but they always end up using the SMH.

I use HV's for stock, and SMH for mod. I tried the HV's a while ago in mod, and the punch at the start of the run felt the same as the SMH's, but towards the end they fell off a bit, whereas with the SMH the discharge curve seems almost flat, car is almost as punchy at the end of 5 minute mod than it is at the start. I have about 1-2 minutes left after 5 minute mod with SMH, 11 double.

Ken, what happened to "SMH are better" ?

My friend's SMH blew up when using 6T Motor.....
