Default RCGT Pics & Paint ONLY! Show them off!

RCGT is exploding out here on the west coast and there are some fantastic-looking cars on the track. I don't claim to have one of them, but I'll start the thread out.

For those who don't know about RCGT, here's the scoop in a nutshell:

- Any 1/10 AWD TC chassis
- Any realistic sports/GT body (no race-bred TC bodies such as the Mazda 6 and others)
- HPI X-Pattern tires
- realistic wheels (no dish rims)
- 17.5/27T

In the first big points series out here you could earn style points for items that add realism such as side mirrors, exhaust pipes, an intercooler, driver figure, etc. This led to some really cool and real-looking cars!

Post up your pics!

I'll start with my Altezza. It's a Tamiya body on a Tamiya TA-05R.

And after some action:

This is the type of turnout we get at a large event...and this is only a partial field. This is from the finale of the Speedtech RCGT Showdown points series:

Tamiya, and yes, it's 190mm. A lot of racers use 200mm bodies as well since HPI makes so many cool ones, and HPI makes a variety of offset wheels to accommodate the added width.

It originally came with the Tamiya TA04R with a black carbon fiber pattern on it It was made to replicate some Altezza that was specifically built to break a track record in Japan. From what I recall, it was a 1-run car (well, the 1:1 was)

Here is the carbon fiber version I have - I just ordered another clear one from Tower, so I'll have it painted something more to my 'style'

oh yeah, excuse the dust - it was sitting for a while

Good to see an RCGT pic thread i think its really gonna become a big class. We are running for the first time this Sunday cant wait
will post some pics later.

Quick question regarding tires. I had an old set of X patterns laying arround upon assembly i noticed the tires have 2 inserts 1 is a very thin piece of foam with rubber arround and the other is the standard foam insert ? any clue as to what these are or if they should be there ? i have asked a couple people and they have no clue. I think i got them last year with a package i purchased so not sure which compound they are .

yuppers...that's why Tamiya made my body that way - because the 1:1 was carbon..and my body came 'pre-printed' with the carbon fiber patterm, there's no paint on mine
