i feel lika a major dumass asking this question but if i dont then ill never b able to change my motor. I cant get my motor out!!! what do i have to unscrew i took the heatsink off but i dont knw what else?!?!?

to get a little picture under your name you should be able to put one in in your user control panel. just go in and edit it. it will be down at the bottom. you just need to save it on your computer then browse through and find it and it will put it in.

the motor adjustment cam can be a little stubborn sometimes just move the motor back and forth a little bit a pull up until it comes out. hope that helps.:)

?

ok i looked for the picture thing but no luck can u explain better?

and the motor? all i have to do is unscrew the heatsink????

and after i get it out and ok i detach from ESC (stock [runner]) how do i hook up my monster pro??

rdub, You need to have a picture stored on your computer that is 80 x 80 pixels or whatever than you use the avatar under your control panel, click on browse to find it.

Yes you need to unscrew the allen head bolts in the motor heatsink and rock the motor while pushing from underneath. It should come out. If your wires are sodered to the motor from your speed control then you need to unsoder them. Unscrew the motor plate on the front of the motor and reattach to the new motor. Pay attention to which tab on the motor is Positive and resolder the wires.
Put the motor clamp(heatsink) back on and adjust your gear mesh, Then get ready to go real fast! :D

Anyone running all the Dumas parts yet and if so do you have to make any changes to your current setup to make them work?

rdub202 12-27-2002 10:26 AM

gear

how do i get the gear off of the old moor i got it off and disconected its all good cep for that?

mike_Webb 12-27-2002 10:28 AM

there is a little set screw on the pinion... use a allen wrench to take it off. Did you get a instruction book with the car? All your questiosn are answered in the book.

Duams arms

Mike,

There are two major changes to the geometry if you choose to do them. In the front-you can use the optional steering location on the knuckles. You will need to make another set-of turnbuckles. The stock associated turnbuckles are too long and you will have to shorten it by about 0.125" This should dramtically smooth out steering-with no loss in lap times.

In the back-you can run the highest camber link position. On foam tires, you'll need to shave the ballcup a tad to clear the rim. I went from the Losi hubs to the dumas hubs and that shortened the rear camber link a lot!! Rear of car felt more planted in 180's and car seemed to turn in sharper and quicker.

More testing on Sunday!!!

Cool Ray.. thanks for the info. Can't wait to try them out.

What would installing the rear shock tower up front do? I have an extra one, but nothing to do with it. Would it make the car more stable or give it more traction?

rdub202 12-27-2002 02:01 PM

gearing

wow i got my monster pro running, OH MY is it fast. i am just wondering if anyone can suggest gearing?
What tooth pinion what tooth spur gear??

mike_Webb 12-27-2002 02:04 PM

Wel...if the monster is already fast then I guess your are set

rdub202 12-27-2002 02:07 PM

so i dont need to change ne thing then?

mike_Webb 12-27-2002 02:09 PM

Run the car until the battery is dead and see if the motor is hot...if you can keep your fingers on it then you can go 1 oe 2 teeth higher... if youhave to remove your fingers right away becasue it is too hot then go down 1-2 teeth in the pinion. If it is just right then leave it at that and have fun :)
