Coxy- I think if you do that you can get less rear toe, but I may be wrong as I haven't looked into that mod yet (have been playing round with everthing else!)
CYA Mike |
Coxy- If you use an "F" instead of the "R" for the rear suspension mounts you get about 1 degree less toe-in. You must put .035 in. spacers under the "F" to bring it up to the right height so you don't upset the antisquat. Here is an example: when you use an "F"(.035 spacer) with a "R 2+2", you will have 1 degree toe-in and 2 degree antisquat.

Sorry about that coxy!!! Not heard of anything like that!!! Worth a try though just to see what it does, thats the best way of finding out!!!
Dont know if you know this one but a couple of the team drivers over here in england have been dremiling the chassie away where the front and rear gearbox sit to get the shaft lower down, they reckon they are gianing more traction out of a corner!!! |
Coxy:
Hi, We are running the rear front block (the one with the "F" on it with a .030 spacer under it) in place of the front rear block (the one with the "R" on it). this will take out some of the rear toe in. Iwe mostly run the R+2+0 rear block on smooth carpet tracks. also you can use the Losi rear hubs to remove even more rear toe in out. so far I really haven't played with them. we only get one day a week to race so I really don't change too much. hope this helps Fakk2 |
Using the 'F' block in the rear also makes it wider. You are reducing rear toe by widening the front mounts of the rear hinge pins instead of narrowing the rear mounts of the rear hinge pins.

Anyone ever try wider rear tires, like we use on our nitro cars? Last weekend when we ran the CRL race here in Toledo, I was saving my newest set of TRC's for race day. I had a few left over sets of UFRA 26mm & 30mm, 45 shore & 40 shore tires from last nitro season. I figured what the heck, and trued them down for a few practice laps. I was really suprised at how the car handled, it was almost exactly the same as my TRC plaids & purples. As a matter of fact, my car lost .3 oz with the tire change. I run the wider TC3 rear end set-up, and was worried about making it through tech (rolling thru the box). I was happy to see that the extra width was off set to the inside, no problems with tech. I have several pairs of Nitro Shoes and I'm going to try a trued down set of those this weekend. They did not slow the car down either, I though about rolling reistance & rotating mass, and I don't think in the end either was a concern. Anyone ever try this?
P.S. The wider rear tires look trick too! |
Delrin arms here!!!
Hey guys,
I got my first shipment of Delrin front arms, steering knuckles and rear hubs in today and they are sweettt!!! Still waiting on the rear arms!! I should be running them this Sunday and I'll give a test report on Monday!!! The |
hey Ray..
the Delrin arms have the droop holes and the new 2 shock mounting locations? Who makes them? and where in Asia did you get them from? post some pics! |
The Derlin arms are made by Mike Dumas. I have ordered the whole set to. I hope that Mike sent them today to me.. I guess I have to e-mail him. I think Mike is based out of Ohio.
|
Ray,
Pleeaassseeeee give us some pics and an URL. Thanks, Pizza |
Mike,
I live in Europe. Do you think Mr Dumas could ship them outside the US? What's the price? Are there 2 holes in the arms? Can you help us with pics.... Thanks, Pizza |
RC-Zombies-No camera!! I'll try and get pics up soon when I get my camera back.
They are machined with droop screw holes, two shock mounting locations and a threaded hole for the ball stud for sway bar!!! Thats good thinkin!! Because of the material (Delrin type material called Nitrolon (sp?))-you wont strip out the holes in the front hubs when putting in and taking them off repeatedly-or putting in the set-screw to hold hinge-pin in the rear hub!!! Thats nice. They are made in the USA!! |
I bet they are stronger than the stock graphite arms...
can you post ordering info and contact... would like to get a set... |
They were around $80 for the complete set (I think...I can't rememebr what I paid for them)..but they will probably never break..which is nice. Mike Dumas just won the Cleveland Race. [email protected] is his e-mail address. E-mail him with questions about shipping. Super nice guy and he helps you out with any questions you have.
