Dragon: Yup, I'll be there. Coming out to visit my best friend and his wife. Haven't seen them in, oh, 4 or 5 years. We used to race here in Cali when he lived here. So, decided to go out there and visit him and, of course, get a little racing in, Texas style!!!

He tells me the tracks are quite small carpet tracks. Should be quite a challenge since I'm used to BIG asphalt or concrete tracks. I am looking forward to it, though. I need something a little different...

Sorry, no 1/12. Just gonna bring 2 electric TC3's. Not really enough time (or ROOM!!!!) to bring everything I wanted to bring (Nitro TC3, Electrics, 1/12 scale, 1/10 scale...you know, the stable!!!!).

Corse-R or Cracker78: If you want, I can donate some space on my site for TC3 FAQ's. Let me know....

Also, I leave tomorrow morning (Thursday) to Texas some R&R. If I don't get on here to answer any questions it's definitely not cuz I'm blowing anyone off... I'll be back on the 15th.

TPHalen....kewl.....just a little FYI on our track.....36' by 62'...Ozite obviously.......woooden barriers.....plastic flappers on the corners...easy on the cars.....puter scoring.....cant wait.

Ok Tony, then, let's go. If you bring some space on your server I put an effort to search whose questions have asked and answered so many times. (Maybe I need and English spellchecker to correct my language bugs LOL! (Tony, you know terms like fluffy and others :D )

Droop Question
 
Hello

I have a droop question for anyone.

If I increase my ride height to the following:

Front 6mm
Rear 5.5mm

do I need to change the factory settings of my droop?

TPhalen: I just ordered a FT tc3 and wanted to know if you could give a good starting set-up for mod at Socal. I'll probably be running a Ti 8x2 and the sorex/ hpi combo for tires. Do you use the one-way? Thanks.

and is the AE graphite better than the composite chassis on the outdoor circuits?

I think it's a beautiful chassis.
Wonder if AE would come up with TP edition of TC3 with all the irs chassis parts.
Or should it be called Modena AL edition?

I saw Tossolini last week and Bary Baker this week.
Just wow how fast those guys race mods.
It would've been interesting to see Kinwald racing with them.

Baker was way (I mean way) faster than other guys when he started front at the grid.
But he struggled when started behind at the grid.
But I've never saw Kinwald struggling while weaving through slower cars.

I think it shows characteristics of TC3 and XXXS.

IMHO, it seems TC3 is a rocket when left alone or in light traffic/fast corners but is harder to weave through in heavy traffic or to overtake the car in front in tight corners.
Fellow TC3 racers is there any truth to this?
Or maybe it was the drivers.

I've gone back to steel input shaft because alu ones all shaved off where bearings touch causing the drive shaft to rattle a little.
But I felt that I lost acceleration big time. I think I lost too many races because I didn't have that tiny more acceleration to run away from the cars behind in tight corners.

I'm going back to alu input shaft.

I also found out that the teflon seal of my duratrax bearings are indeed just flexible some sort of rubberish material.
I thought teflon was like hard plastic or something. :D

I'm taking them off oneside, no need to leave it there if they can't help the bearings from impact.

TPHalen.......thanks for coming over and racing with us Saturday night......you were flying in Mod sedan.......did you get to see any of the 1/12 racing??????My "taxi cab yellow" RC12LW is keeping the faith, against a "CRC invasion" until i can get a RC12LS........Hope ya'll had a good time....we had a blast:D

I realized, after three years (and six different kits) of using my TC3 that the graphite chassis doesn't like me. I've available two cars (well, almost) one with graphite chassis and other with composite chassis.

Graphite chassis is 'too stiff' for me and the tracks were I race, possibly on June at one carpet race I'll use the graphite one seeking for more rigidity. For all the people who tested the two chasis, almost all prefeer the composite ones, it makes the car less twitchy.

rcruv - I'm one of the cars Baker and Kinwald regularly uses as "traffic." Normally, I and the other pros will just move out of the way when Baker or Kinwald approaches our rear bumper. The problem last weekend was that Baker painted his car all White and there were 3 other all White cars. If Baker had a more distinctive paint job, we would have gotten out of the way faster.

Ya, Saturday night was fun. It's been awhile since I ran on carpet but it was VERY fun, and VERY hooked up!!!! I did have a good time and thanks to everyone for the great hospitality!!!

Erik R. I have quite a few setups on my site, www.competitionx.com. Go there and in the R/C Tuning section there is a place to pick up alot of setups.... good luck and let me know if you need any help.

Modena,

I just finished installing the IRS chassis and stiffening set...boy is it awesome. I hope it preforms as good as it looks....

I also bought the CRC Clicker shocks for it, those are pretty cool as well. Just trying to build a unique TC3 that is racer friendly..

Anyone had experience with either of these products for setup purposes?? Looking for a setup for medium bite asphalt (parking lot) with rubber tires running spec class(19 turn motor)
