Charlie_B recommended I switch to 231 software since it is hot where I live now and should keep things a little cooler since it is a little less aggressive. Thank you to the entire Speed Passion development and testing teams for all that you do. I am willing to wait for an "official" release because I know it will be AWESOME!!!
Glad to help bud! Keep us posted on your progress!

charlie b, thank you for your help. I checked out the TQ Racing site and they had exactly what I was looking for and at a great price!

Thanks again, much appreciated!

Start at 6.0 and go from there. I think you will be overheating it with an 8.3.

It is true to a point, but if you are just geared that high winding out your motor, it WILL overheat.

Again, start with 6.0 and go up or down from there.

The guidelines in this document is a very good starting point.
Dont rush and take note of changes you make and you will be sorted.
Just dont get caught in the idea that "Max" settings mean max performance.
The software is definately moving forward and improving but we still having most problems being from guys either under gearing, over gearing, over timing or activating the supercharge to early or combinations of the above.

Default Tekin Basher

"Baldmann666 Wrote I really dont want to change, as you can see I have been with SP since their first GT 1.0 speedo, But I am frustrated at the time this is taking.

We keep hearing (on this thread) Speed passion are "closer than you think" but have yet to see it!

Also why bring out the GT 2.1 Pro stock with lame under par software when it just is not fast enough?? I believed the hype and bought one and it just doesn't hack it at the sharp end.

Why not let us CUSTOMERS know just how close you are?

Why not post something to encourage us not sneer at us!

Oh and why not just admit that at the moment Speed Passion just is not hacking it??

Well I can tell you that the latest version of SP, the version number I shall not disclose did some wild things at our last National Event.

At first it was all about the sheer acceleration and speed of the Tekin RS Systems which decimated the SP. In fact a great number went and bought Tekins in between the Qualy 1 and Qualy 2...Then we loaded the latest SP versions and we waved goodbye to the Tekins in all aspects, Acceleration and Straight Line Speed. I just kept faith in the product and the result of waiting is evident. Now we shall all await the proper release of the SP and all the Tekin guys will be wondering what happened. Keep up the development SP and rather take your time and not land up like all the Team Wavers who blow Esc and motors at will because of a lack of testing.

I have almost the same setup as you and I just ran software 230 last weekend with a 6.5 FDR and it is too low for my small/medium parking lot track. My motor went up to 200*. I geared it to 7.05 and it's good now...fast and temps around 140*. You will either be too overgeared or too undergeared. Spend a few bucks on gears instead of having to spend more on a new motor.

there is a possibility he is telling the truth especially when you consider Hobbywing have just bought out new software for us to test.

Forgive me for being a bit of a "smart ace" but I see you get it. Your choice depends on what you're looking for. I don't think any of them are bad, just different. I own both and am happy with both, for different reasons. Speed Passion for me was a good choice because of the support for one. Charlie B is a stand up guy and is basically in my backyard, has a wealth of insight that he is'nt scared to share. That counts for alot in my book. Ultimately you have to make what you think is the best decision for you.

Take care, Rob...........
