The Speed Passion Thread
#1381
Another one for Speedpassion! I raced this weekend at the GLARC Toys 4 Tots race and ran RCGT. The track is 250'x100. We ran the whole track for 7 minutes. All i can say is the V 3.0 17.5's are awesome! I geared my Cyclone S 75/65. Yes, 65t pinion! You can imagine that lanes were wide open. Motor temp was 129*F. I do have a 40mm fan on the motor and i am running the 312 program as well. I did not play with the timing...i really don't need to. Especially with the super tall gearing, you want to keep the motors as cool as possible. I don't recommend gearing this motor this high in any track smaller. This was geared just for the long 250' straight.

from what I was told by a very good driver, the V3.0s appear to definitely be more on the torquey side of things. I am curious from others, in general, how much of a difference in pinion size are you seeing going from motor "X" to say a V3 of the same type (17.5, etc) ?
I am thinking of picking up 2 V3.0s since my other 21.5s failed, already have a 13.5 but no class right now for it.

dunno. there's no reason to assume that the other winds will exhibit the same tendencies, but most people are leaning that way...
and i may have been undergeared with my duo. however, they were running the same lap times...
rule of thumb, add teeth, temp the motor, and view the lap times.

B/C They dont seem to reply or answer to anything.
Its always a question back and then email ignor from there on.
They make decent products as long as it works any question beyond that its ignor. Not the best customer service...
