I'd like to share my experience with a newly purchased Blue Reventon Pro ESC/V3 Motor 13.5R Combo from SP Asia (order#6902) received last June 18, 2013. The problem was: at the work table; motor jerking (cogging/glitch) during test/running mode (20-40% Throttle); at the tracks; after a lap or 2, loss of power and Red and Orange LED blinking; at times only the Red LED. Setup: Stock 1 Boosted with default settings; FDR 6.3. To make the long story short; i did every adjustments/change possible (program setup, cables, RX, Servo and Motor) to isolate the problem. It is a firmware issue. My ESC will only run "normal" on V19 firmware and not on the V20.
With un-replied email(s) sent to cs.kinggoldenltd.com since July 14, i think i'll settle with this solution and use V19 rather than V20; which i am using with my other 2 Reventon Pro/13.5R V3 and MMM units purchased from other Asian suppliers; without issues. Hope this helps others who had encountered a similar problem as i did. Thanks |
what are the advantages and disadvantages of MuchMore sofrware installed on Reventon Pro?

do i need to cut my sensor wire when running reventon pro with team powers motors?

got a pretty good deal on a Reventon stock club race package. esc and 17.5 v3 competition motor for $64 on rcmart.
the motor is a bonus but what can i expect from this esc in blink 17.5 touring car? I also ordered a ORCA esc but couldnt pass this one up for the price. trying it out to recommend as a noob and budget friendly system but how does it perform compared to say a tekin rs, which many of our club guys run? I understand many of us run WAY way overkill stuff in our stock cars, but is 40a/250a enough? |

Where can I get the v19 software from? I can only find download links for the new v20? I have a similar issue with mine, where the motor sounds like its running rough when the sensor wire is connected. I've tried every possible combo (even tried muchmore v20 software on the esc) and it still does it.
Runs rough (and noticably loud) at mid rpm, but if I back the throttle right off the rotor eventually stops spinning and whines. Doesnt occur when running sensorless. |

meaning that the problem solved by re-flash the firmware to V19 instead of V20?. I do have the same issue. May be will try this workaround.

I tried searching this thread, but it's just too long. So, quick question:
What is a reasonable maximum operating temperature for a Reventon Pro? I ask since in my current setup I can't run the included fan, and I want to make sure it doesn't negatively affect the ESC. Today it came off the track at 102 degrees, which I presume is still fine. What would be my max before I should start worrying? Edit: I should add that it's currently paired to a 17.5 motor, but I'll be trying a 10.5 soon, which is why my temperature question comes up. |
