Hey
I need help with gearing and speedy setup on this track
In 21.5 boosted class with a MMM motor and gt 2.0 lpf speedy with the latest firmware.

I have tried a wide range of gearing from 4.6 (which I had no acceleration out of corners and from 6.1-7 which I was getting close to a good spot but it just wasn't working.
I'm stuck with what to try and need some advice.
Thanks.

Im facing exactly the same problem on the same track in 21.5T. I started on 4.5 gearing, loved the straight and my V3 motor stayed nice and cool, but got owned in the infield.

Went to gearing of 6.0, was like a blinky down the straight and my motor went to 88 degrees, too hot for the V3's.

I settled on gearing of 5.1, competative down the straight, nice and punchy in the infield and my motor is happy on 68 degrees with max timing on the speedy.

Try it you will love it. My name is Chris see you Sunday week :-)

Hi
What is the ideal gear ratio for a SP V3 21.5 no ESC timing on a medium sized Asphalt technical track?
Thx!

3.8 to 3.5 should get you close....

thx! Would retarding motor timing actually help to gear it up a bit more? Or not much benefits. I saw on SP setup sheet a guy with stock retarding the motor timing fully?

it depends...if your running a boosted class, you use less motor timing, and get all your timing from the speed controller,,if your running no stock non-boosted, you use all the timing in the motor you can get

I see, this kind of makes sense. The speed passion seems a lot less torquey than my LRP on the 21.5 that's why I was thinking of retarding the timing to get similar gear ratios

I LOVE IT! Finally got to test my new GT2.1 Prostock last night and it's amazing.

I'm coming from the Novak Kinetic and the Speed Passion has so much more speed!

I've based the settings on the 323Stock setup for 13.5 on the Team Driver ESC Setups page and just calmed it down a little.

The temps seemed to stay low and I could barely reach full throttle in my street it was so fast!

Really looking forward to racing this Sunday - it should be interesting.

Does anyone else have any more setups for 13.5 touring car as there is only one on the Speed Passion website for 323Stock.

Also I note the instructions say to reverse the throttle channel on Futaba Transmitters. Why is this as it seems to work both ways. Normal and reversed.

I am using the 3GR 2.4GHz Transmitter is it necessary to reverse the throttle?

As long as it work...you are fine. But the older Futaba model like the 3PK still need to use the REVERSE on the throttle setting to get the car moving forward when I pull the trigger, not push forward.

what start gearing do you recommend on a v3 5.5t, 1s motor in touring on a large asphalt track? would 8:1 be a good start?

thats a bit high. i run on a large track, and normally use 8.2-8.4 for a 3.5T. last couple of rounds i used a 5.5t and still managed a similar lap time . i used 6.8FDR for the 5.5t GT2 Pro with the 323 stock software 32 boost 20 turbo , 6 turbo slope and 550 ACC . no heatsink, just a fan on the chassis behind the motor. temps were around 80C all day. if temps get up, try 600 ACC.

Whats the recommended ESC for short course mod truck? I'm new to Speed Passion, but I'm looking to upgrade my LRP stock race club speedo. What software version would you recommend?

GT 2.0 Pro is still their top model until the Revention Pro comes out in the future.

Guy's

I'm goint to be running 17.5 blinky in my TC6. I just wanted to double check that I will need to buy the LCD program box to install the 508 blinky software
right? Does the HobbyWing 2in1 LCD program box work also?
Thanks.
