It will run in sensorless mode, my sensor wire came loose during a race and the car still ran but not as smooth and no timing. Run a sensored motor if you want full potential of this esc.

Would you use it in low grip or a twisty track and then unleash it on the straight?
The beauty of the BOOST/SC is...you can run a slower motor and take advantage of the low-end power (usually, slower turn motor has better low-end power...usually). but with the software enhanced, it will BOOST the slower motor in a short period of time when it is needed, just as fast as a lower turn motor...of course, everything has a limit, you cannot BOOST a 17.5 motor up to 4.5T rpm or we will never have any MOD or STOCK racing....everything will be stock or everything will be MOD.

For example...depends on the size of the track, you will find 13.5 motor lap time is within 0.5 sec per lap slower then a full mod motor lap time. 2-3 years ago, that is not the case...MOD is always faster by alot.

It is a good stock sportsman motor....

Are you saying you want to run it with 4.45 final drive..? Depends on what software you are running...for no timing, I think you can OVER GEARED. For full boost software...you are WAY WAY WAY over geared....

But if you are drag racing for a short period of time...I think it is OK.

I outrun anything with my 1/12 scale Serpent car with Hobbywing 1S ESC except for 1 Tekin guy, so stop comparing ESC's....
Driving and car set-up skills come into play also, and my feeling of the electro world is that drivers always only are blaming the ESC if they are not fast enough....

And because this is the SP thread, you are off course allowed to bash any other brand if you want, I understand...

Yep, looking forward Phil in comparing our firmware, but... again, driving skills come into play.

There is nobody as fast as John with his GM powered car, but again, those driving skills (or the lack of them) are killing his laptimes....

am running SP GT2.0 on my 12th on 1S batt.
is there a new FW that would work really well with V3 SP 4.0T motor? base set-up would be greatly appreciated

currently running 508MOD FW but am having ESC thermal at end of 8 min run. If i tone down timing (DMTS) to get cozy temps after 8-min run, i feel its too slow down the straight.
