Speed Passion Over Heat Protection Custom Value

The overheat protection should work for the motor and ESC. I took this from the GT2.0 manual.

If the function is activated, the output power will be cut-off when the temperature of the
ESC or the internal temperature of the motor is up to 95C for more than 5 seconds. When the protection happens,
the Green LED will light.
When the ESC is over-heated: The Green LED flashes as “”.
When the motor is over-heated: The Green LED flashes as “”.
Note: The over-heat protection function for the motor may not be 100% accurate for motors other than Speed
Passion brand.

BEN,
FYI, we all had heat protection on. I blew 2 13.5's and 2 17.5's. This software testing is to ensure you guys don't blow your stuff up like us test drivers did.

This also a bit mistakes on Firmware and Software,

Like Rocking Donkey said above The OH Protection is not 100% accurate

That's because The OH Protection is not custom value, so it's only works on
95Deg Celsius. so more Custom value is required here.

There is a reason why,

" Motor Over Heat Protection can only work's with Sensors "
" Motor Over Heat Protection required time to detect Temp Rise and Fall "

So the temp sensor on the BL Motor is not like your temp gun IR,
it does not detect instantaneous.
Perhaps your motor already 100C when your esc detect 95C,
according to Quick Rise of the Temp.
and it will be required more than 5 Second, as The motor temp required time to reduced Their Temp.
Remember Each Motor Windings (Turn) had a Different temp Speed Rise and Fall.

So the conclusion is Your motor is Hotter Than Actual 95C.

To avoid That, Speed Passion Must allow Custom Value to the Software so we can find more accurate Temp for the Motor.

Let it go believe me. I have accepted that no matter what SP does with their product he is never going to be happy with the outcome. Always going to ask for more and more out of the product. I just hope he gets his esc fixed. Maybe that will calm him down for a while..

dfiantii you get me wrong here.

I am happy with Speed Passion That's why i put my self to talk about Firmware.

what's wrong about asking more ?
getting fixed is not the real solution ?

we learn about GM,LRP, and Tekin. but that doesn't mean will go for tekin.

do you think not asking is the right way, why don't you stop asking settings and help, can you do that ? , no , i don't think so.

take a lesson from that.

anyway i am here not just asking, but also share an idea.
and more to help any thing possible, while asking is one of the choice.

above i am just telling about how sensor work's and new ideas.
the motor sensor TEMP required time,
so before you get burned the motor,
i made suggestion to the firmware, to have an option on temp custom value.

and if you think i am out of product, think again it's not.

if you know how LCD works, there is some settings you can custom value.
so i am not out of product.

it's just the software developers is not yet think about it, and may be they don't race a car. and they just doing what they told to do.

so I'm looking more forward, but you take nothing but doing nothing. :D

it's like you asked about settings here, and wanting to do what,
getting faster ?
better perfomance ?
solution ?
suggestion ?
and you want it to do it your self right ?
fixing and tuning ?
so get fixed is not the real answer.

many want's to do it your self thing.

above is the only way to maintain Motor temp.

remember when your motor sensor tell esc that your motor is 95C
there is possible your motor already 100C. :D

it's wise to have temp protection for motor.
since rocking donkey say it's not accurate 100%,
why don't we adjust it with "custom value".
So you will not burned you motor by turning it off.

It’s obvious he has an agenda, I seem to remember that once when one of his repeated questions was answered he noted with some satisfaction that he had plenty of others to use. Sad part is, if he used just half of the energy he puts into trolling here he could possibly be a success on his own. But apparently it’s more fun to attack someone else’s success than risk his own over inflated sense of self.

The price of an open forum I guess.

Latest Software Updates stopped ?

I found out that Speed Passion is turning off the Software Updates detection on their websites,
unlike Hobbywing they still allow previously version to detect latest version software to download in their websites.

Here is an example :
Hobbywing Link
http://www.hobbywing.com/upload/soft...are_update.ini

Speed Passion Link
http://www.speedpassion.net/upload/A...are_update.ini

So if you have the Speed Passion Version 1.31 it will not detect the version 1.32 which contain stock software.

There is must be a reason why is the old version of Speed Passion not allowed to get the latest version software example Version 1.32

Irgo, I wouldn't read too much into that, with the migration of the SP websites to King Golden, it probably has not been migrated yet.

205 is fine, no issues. The most stable of all the software, and you can run MOD with it. All the other software are geared for STOCK racing. You can run stock and mod with it, while the 107 and 110 can only run Stock with them.

Ok, thanks :tire:

I'm glad I kept my GT 2.0. Life would be boring without all of this drama.
