suspension swapping
To start the new photon looks awesome from the pics that I have seen ,and I can't wait to get one...I've got a question in regards to the suspension which i was told that you can use the old scythe arms as they are same geometry as the new one on the photon and also I have seen pics at the euro race and looks like the one of the racer was using on the photon was the scythe suspension front and back..any diffs or advantages with the old scythe suspension? can u interchange with the front c hubs and steering knuckle? can anyone ouththere who has the photon car give me some info regarding the suspension geometry between the photon and scythe.

The suspension geometry seems to be approx the same, the euro car that was run at the ETS was received very shortly before the race, it seems that to be on the safe side they ran the old suspension, and sway bars as they ran on the old car.
I saw some of the suspension pieces in action on a scythe car, the parts are very beefy, and should survive an impact better, and they also allow you to change the shock mount position, the downside from the look and feel of them is that i think the old plastic HPI arms would be better on most of our low traction tracks, unless of course TOP comes out with some soft arms for the Photon.

Beserco - From testing over the years I don't believe that softer (more flexi) suspension arms are good. In temperature changes their flex is effected more than just a very stiff/ridgid arm which makes it impossible to tune the car. Softer arms may give you a feeling that the car is easier to drive (it numbs the responce from the track) but never have I found it to be faster. Now, I know I don't quite race on the low grip tracks like in Europe but I look at two of the best rubber TC's out there (Tamiya and HB) and their suspension arms are quite stiff so while some will use this for tuning, I think it only hurts the performance/consistancy of the car especially in changing track/weather conditions.

I tried the high traction arms on my Scythe but i wasn't faster. the car drove easier but is was slower with it.
I looks like that the car slows down in the corners.

Well I was fortunate enough to have held a Photon but I would love to see a few more pics of it. I went looking for some but all I could find is a set-up sheet.
Is the release date still the 22nd? Perhaps by July I can afford it.

correct date
I was looking at the thread and seems to be confusing to me, when the car is really going to be available?
