Yes, I, Mark Ament have though of something that could actully work. I was working in my garage, and checking out one of my older racing motocross bikes, and saw a heat sticker that we had put on to check the tempature of the radiator between races, and to maintain it at a low temp. Then i thought of putting one of these on a RC motor. It runs from around 140* and way higher.

I know alot of the factory motocross teams keep them on there motors, so why shouldn't we? I cant remember were i got the stickers at, but as im looking around, i found some from the Pro Circuit website, were there $20 for a pack of 3. Which is alot cheaper than a temp gun.

This is a good idea....I know there are people that are already using these on RC car motors. Its a really nice idea to just look at the sticker and be able to see what temp you are up to with out tracking down a temp gun.

might be more repeatable since the measurement point is the same every run. very good idea. can't wait for someone else to make money on it.

It looks very practical. But technology has already gone past this. For motor temp I just look at the telemtry on my radio these days.

that reminds me of those little temp gauges that you stick on the inside of fish tanks... same principle, MUCH lower temp ranges.

Or you could stick your thumb on the motor and depending on what degree burn you get, go from there.

1st - too cool.
2nd - good.
3rd - too hot.
Smoking/on fire - new motor.

I picked up my temp gun at my local hobby shop for 29.00. I use it every day at work and when I race.

Heh, like the other guy said, can't wait till Hudy gets his paws on these stickers, slaps the "OPTIMIZED" and "LUXURIOUS" tags on it then sells em for $35 a pop, instead of 3 for $20. LOL!!

I wonder if I took a dump in a bag and sent it over to Hudy, how much he can "optimize" and "luxuriate" my bag of dump and sell it!

What would be a decent idea I think is... Simply cut the the different temperatures out of the strip. Stick your goal temp on the motor (say your tuning for temperature) and when that baby lights up, your golden.
