There is probably 5 bodies on average that is used at Tamiya. I believe you mentioned the top two!!! Next would be the Ride M2 body, then Tamiya's Subaru Legacy, then the Losi Alfa body. Choosing is all about what your driving style!
Neutral to slight push to mucho loose!

Hi guys. . . I read somewhere in the recent posts here that the Original 415 3mm chassis and the 415MS 2.5mm chassis have different suspension mounts on them? Can I still use the lighweight suspension set on my standard 3mm chassis? Thanks in advance.

Yes you can, you just need more shims. But the other way using the old suspension on the MS chassis is different. From what I heard you also can use that but there is no more room for shims so you are fixed to one wheelbase.

V12 : Thanks !!! I'm glad to hear that coz I already ordered the lighweight sus. set. Will there be performance difference or it will be just the same as the MS?

I think there will be still a difference as the MS chassis is thinner and softer. But I have to say I have a MS conversion but didnīt tried it until now. Just prefer the strongness of the old suspension.

I have both a standard 415 and a 415 with the LW suspension parts.

Overall I think both are very capable. With my current setups the 415LW seems to corner much better. As for the durability I'm actually surprised at how well the LW bits have held up. Before I owned ithe LW parts I thought they would be fragile. Now having run 8T mods on carpet and asphault I see it's very durable.

If you want to try something different or are concerned about the smaller bearings with the LW suspension....use Pro4 knuckles with 4x10 bearing (i think that's the size). With that you just need about a 1mm shim on top of the knuckles to fit snug in the c-hub.

My guess would be Alex Racing (along with the shock shafts).

Gawd knows....

Just been listening to an interview with David Spashett from the euros, gave a very informative chat about the MSX.

Basically, David explained the differences between the MS and MSX, which ammounts to easy access bulkheads (which most of us could tell already), and a lower CoG (probably less well realised). He went onto explain differences between the MS and MSX setups, which mainly centred around making the suspension softer to allow the car to roll more, generating more grip. For this, most setups run in hole 2 on the wishbones, and softer springs... This also gives better balance
Interestingly, he mentions that all the suspension components are the same as the MS (all the LWT), but so are the shock towers... I thought that the kit would come with a new front tower.

Also, he mentioned how that most of the team drivers prefer this over the MS, with it possible to feel small adjustments better. David himself definitely seems to like it... to quote

"I do believe they've made a step forward"

So not just been done just to allow easier access to diffs, but a step forward in performance too.

The interview is deffiently worth listening too... it's on the orion site.
