How can you get 28mm foam tires to fit this car??? The car is awesome for rubbers but, for carpet racing with foamies not so good due to the spindles hitting etc!

Thanks in advance!

I think I will have some racing on carpet before October. In 10 days will be my last outdoor race for this year.
Hi V12,

The Marathon was excellent! In total 11hrs 30mins under way and of that (discounting stops which were long as my race partner had stomach problems) 9hrs 50mins of race pace - was a little tired afterwards

I've one Nitro race more in October in England - I travelling over just for the race. I hope to race in a few different countries next year, starting with the Winternats in Florida.

Once I have the Nitro race out of the way, I'll be fully concentrating on carpet racing/testing throughout the winter.

Were are you racing on Carpet? Any particular series?

Kev,
You drive a 415 now?

Won't using the 6mm hex make the car wider thus, making it not legal for sanctioned races??

you need to put the red and blue shims on the axle that works also cut youre front to 27mm or even 26 mm the car actually gets more steering .

First carpet race will be the CS Open near Frankfurt on 2./3. October.
It´s very interesting usually as Teemu Leino, Steen Graversen and Jonas Andersson are coming for sure. Usually Jonas Kaerup and Andy Moore are coming also. Hope this year will be the same.
I will do a carpet practice session 2 weeks before near Ravensburg.

An other interesting race is the HPI/Team Orion Classics in Zillisheim/France were a lot of international drivers will be there including Davis Spashett and Craig Dresher usually. It´s on 6./7. November and not that far away from me.

Beside this we have a regional series starting at the end of October again.

2/3 is when I'm doing my Nitro race in England - Zillisheim is probably too far away for me, but I'll look into it.

I'll have to check to see what races are going on in my area from Oct onwards.

Cheers, Mark.

Thanks! And thanks to those who have replied!!

Forty6,

Whats up man, no I'm back with the Xray, but I have a buddy that runs one and nothing seems to fit with out rubbing parts of the car! Its a shame the 415 is bad @$$!!

I would consider one if I could get the fomies to fit well! I might try it out later in the season.

Is this what your running??

See ya,

Kevin

Zillisheim is at Mulhouse near Freiburg. But if you´re interested it´s important to register soon as everybody wants racing there and there is a limit on drivers. The amateur class is interesting as there is a set of controltires and a motor included in the fee.

If you are worried about 28mm being too wide to be legal... don't forget that you can also change the suspension blocks to make the car narrower. And to make the 28mm fit... read the past few pages...

Default Better ball cup system?

Hi There -

Not sure if this was asked before, but I was wondering if people have any suggestions as to a more durable and reliable ball cup to use on the 415, or Tamiya cars in general.

I find that once a ball cup pops off, it has way too much slop.

I have heard people using RPM ball studs and ball cups - anyone else? Maybe Xray or HPI?

Does not have to be TCS legal.

Thanks

Dave
