Well I ran this conversion on Tuesday night and subjectively it didn't make a huge difference. There may have been a touch more steering but it wasn't anywhere as much as I expected. Note I ran the same setup as I did before the MRE steering conversion to keep observations consistent. I've been running a setup based on MR's Reedy setup. Since a lot of people have found the MRE kit setup to be quite aggressive, I might have to give that a try. One big positive is that the MRE steering setup looks awesome! Note also that the MRE lower deck also has holes for the MSX steering setup. So if anyone ever breaks their MSX lower deck, I would replace it with the MRE item.

For those interested in converting their MSX to run the MRE steering, here are the parts you need:
4024004 MRE Upper Deck
9404668 MRE Lower Deck
9804266 MRE Steering Posts
3454396 Steering Bridge
9808066 Steering Arm
2x 3x42mm turnbuckles
1x 3x23mm turnbuckle
4x 5x0.5mm shims (left these out in previous post)

Cheers,

Vincent

So the MRE upper & lower decks have been released in the states or do I have to contact an overseas dealer?

The upper is available on Tamiya USA's site, and the lower is out of stock.

Hi Addam. That's a tough one. Like I said I was in HK and it was a case of a few bits from one shop and a few bits from another. This seems to be easier to do on foot than via email as HK shops can be hard to deal with at times. I would probably email R/C Champ if I wanted these bits again.

Hi Addam. My last list (with 4 5x0.5mm shims) should have all the parts you need to do the MRE steering conversion. Make sure you download the instructions for the MRE if you haven't already - http://www.tamiya.com/japan/rc/rcman...4trf415msx.pdf.
