Going to be getting the MRE ordered next week, just wondering has anyone used it on carpet with rubber tyres? If so, is there anything you recommend i should get?

Yes you can!
Just make sure you run the belts a litle tighter as the plastic pulleys have a litle narrower tooth design making them want to skip a litle easier...

What handling differences did you notice whilst using the short arms (and using wider blocks).

I tested with both D-D blocks up front and B-A and ended up running the later as it gave me more steering! (used 6mm hexes)
In the rear I used the stock D-XB.....

The long arms runs too tight on carpet (stops in the corners) The short arms makes the car allot freer and it steers better, even when it slides

I have even been running the short arms outdoors lately, FASTER!!

I second that, just tested them yesterday and i just love them. Some people on here will know that last year i gave up on getting the MSX to work for me on carpet and ended up taking the good old standard TRF 415 back out. This year i decided to try to make the car to work. I tested the HPI hubs on front and it definately made a difference, however the car was still very difficult to drive, the rear end kept on breaking loose very unpredictably, and was sometimes behaving very bad, even with RP30s on.

This is very strange as I had the old 415 with the LW suspension to work very well indeed on carpet, have to assume it has to do with the stiffness of the car hence i've also ordered a tech racing top deck which should be stiffer.

Anyway after fitting the short arms, put B-A on the front and X-D on the rear with the shimming recommended for the MRE the car is transformed, it just works now and i can concentrate on my lines instead of concentrating on keeping the car on track, lol.

yep, 2 degrees rear toe in total, well enough for 19T...

no i enjoy seeing my spurs rattling on the ground, think it's funny and i like changing them after every run, makes for cheap racing
