There seems to be a thought that any pick for tire outside of speedworld Sorex premounts is the wrong tire. There's also the thought that this won't be the tire and the picked tire will suck.
Why don't they just make the Reedy tire open tires this year only? I know I know....its not fair right? Well running crappy tires sucks too. Just a thought.

Well heres a useful and constructive post/thought.

What's the deal with handout tires anyway? It's supposed to be some sort of equalizer, no? How exactly is that supposed to work? Why not just let everybody run the tire they're comfortable with and race.

Not to many more days for practice before the Reedy!!!
APRIL...
Sat. the 25th... Open practice day
Sunday the 26th... Open practice day
MAY...
Sunday the 3rd... Electric & Nitro race day
Sat. the 9th... Electric race
Sunday the 10th...Open practice day
The Track will be CLOSED from the 11th to the 20th for painting and general mantiance... The hobby shop will remain OPEN!!
21-24... 2009 REEDY RACE OF CHAMPIONS

If you've ever tried to be competitive at an open tire event you'd understand why spec tires became popular. It's not about comfortable for most guys that go to a race, it's about what is fast, or supposed to be fast in many cases. At least with a spec tire, we're all dealing with the same tire and don't have to pony up and buy 4 sets of "everything" in case they work.

Off Road track will be closed

6:30 – 7:30 Open practice
7:30 – 8:30 Controlled practice
8:45 – 8:55 Drivers meeting
9:00 – Racing Starts
3 Rounds of qualifying
13.5, 6min qualifiers
Open Mod, 5min qualifiers
RCGT, 7min qualifiers
Round 1, scrambled order, heads up start
Round 2, reverse order, heads up start
Round 3, line up in the order you qualified for the day, heads up start
Track will be open for practice after racing is done
Track will be washed again Saturday evening if necessary
Off Road track will be closed
