I still wanna run stock at my track but I also still wanna run 13.5 (in my TC)

Ive decided to use my old brushed stuff for my stock car - that way I don't have to go out and spend $250 on a new brushless setup. Ive always felt that a good tuned brushed 27t would smoke a 17.5 - wondering what you guys think.

Does anyone still produced tuned 27t motors?

it depends on how well the two motors are geared. If you have a great brushed motor that is cut and tuned recently that is geared perfect no problem it can beat a 17.5.

I have found that in the trans am class you need a very well tuned 27t and you have to gear the motor to just before the point of burning it up to stay with a properly geared 17.5.

A well tuned and clean cut 27t with good low friction oil in the bushings is for sure faster then a 17.5 in most cases

alot of people make 27t still i go with the stock star. but brushless is the way to go you don't have to change brushes and cut the com lot less work lol

I am still running 27t for stock touring...BL for off road...

I've ran both in my TC and 27t is faster slightly. At the start of the run 27t has alot more power, but they come together later in the run. My 17.5 had to be geared to the point of meltdown to get the times I was running with my brushed. At the last carpet nats I went thru 2 17.5's in qualifying and melted one down in the B main. If I was paying for these I would have spent over $200 in motors that weekend. Oh and by the way all the cars that finished above me were running brushed. Thats why I now run the 13.5 class until they get rid of the 17.5/27T class. It just not equal in TC's.
