I'm wondering whether I should omit the spacers behind the two larger internal gears? Has anyone else experienced this when assembling GD2 with Shepherd gear combo.

Appreciate!
You can't run the shims behind the large gears. Take those out and it will work just fine.

I've seen this before as well. To add to what Monti said, the issue I ran into was the bearing on one side not fully pressing onto ST31. There was a very slight interference fit between bearing and ST31 not allowing it to fully seat. Once this was pressed down all the way, it freed up the gears.

This thing looks really nice

Oleg,
can you tell us the performances of the servo? Will it be available with engraved name?
And will it also be available thru Shepherd or only through the Awesomatix online store?

Great, thanks Monti!

How about filling the gear diff....I read about some extravagant methods to fill the diff up via syringes, extracting the air and sucking in the fluid...what about normal, manual filling of the half diff? How much fluid? I couldn't find any fill limit mark as per GD1 instructions.

Thanks!

Looking at the picture, it seems like to me that these shims are the same than the 0.1mm shims supplied with the car kit

Why? They are not going to help you drive better.
