Hey all I'm back. Finished 4th in the main. I had a big lead on 3rd when I got held up by a backmarker for over a lap, and when i dove under him in the sweeper i got taken out . Wish Scotty would've called that one....

So i finished 4th overall, with pretty much an A-main car...VERY FAST.

I'm deciding whether or not to share the dialed setup ....a wise friend once told me to keep it all to yourself because then you'd stay fast . Nah really all you team guys racing on foam/carpet give me a shout i got something for ya

Brian, try running that same setup but with less toe-in in the rear. I was thinking about it on the drive home; if your dual rate is set to 70%-80%, then you are getting plenty of turn in already; go down to 1* each side (or even less) and try it, or add a bit more dual rate. Another option is to go to 6* blocks in the front to compensate; especially if you are running the -2* of kickup (or whatever it's called) and 4* caster blocks currently; that means you only have 2* effective caster in the car.

I looked at some of the faster guys' TC3s at the end of the day and many were running 0-1 degree of toe-in on each side. Not saying that it's definitely faster, but it's something to try. My car was rotating just fine in the main, and my lap times were only about .1-.2 sec behind yours, and I'd attribute that to other reasons.

Anyway, just stuff to try. Good setup, though. Thanks for the battery tie down!

Ya but shane did you hit 11.9's and 12.0's?

I was thinking for the nats to try 1.5 and/or 1 degree toe. That may have helped it through the corner a little bit at this race, but it was fast nonetheless. For lower/medium bite definitely keep the 2 degrees of toe to keep the car stable.

As you know, my car was pretty bound up and crappy for most of the weekend, so I was only comparing the lap times from the main, since that was all I had to go on. After we freed up the drivetrian some more, it was finally getting speed.

Stephen, for example, had 0* of toe-in at the rear.

I may be out of practice driving, but I do know a good deal of setup stuff. Besides, I'm just throwing ideas out there to help -- you liked my -2* of kick in the front! haha

Well stephen drives different than i do, too. I could've tried less toe in the rear, but I didn't want to mess with a good thing. It was fast and that's what matters.

Should be good for the nats.

Default SETUP

Brian, I have a couple of questions.

1) What is the purpose of the spacers under the steering knuckle ball studs?

2) Should the Losi rear hubs be mounted on the proper left/right side or reversed?

Fuzzy,

The purpose of those spacers is to give the correct amount of bump steer.

For that setup, I ran 0 degree hubs, so it doesn't matter. You could use 1/2 degree losi hubs backwards to get 1.5 degrees toe.
