Solvent to dissolve colour springs?

Any idea what I can use to dissolve a set of colour springs? Are the springs powder coated?

Thanks.

Am assuming you mean the color coating, if so then brake fluid will do it.

You could buy the sets of Tamiya springs that come in all white or all light blue. They have a tiny color dot near the bottom so people can't tell what rate your using...

just Dye them black with Rit Dye, much easier and alot less clean up

The paint is also taken into consideration with doing tension ratings

as in, different color paint makes the spring rate change?

different color paint used as to distinguish spring rates......yes.

As in the paint makes them harder or softer to a bear spring

probably negligible. what's next? layer of CA on the edge of base plate will make the chassis stiffer?

You could prob use aircraft stripper, graffiti remover, or easy-off oven cleaner.

All of which are nasty, use gloves.

aircraft stripper....deadly, but holy jesus it works like a charm. Just dip your spring in there and in seconds the paint will vanish!

Krylon paint stripper from your local auto parts store is what I used.
