Does anyone know offhand if the smc 5200 24c lipo will fit the 009? I thought it said it was 23.75 in height when actually it's 24.75. I'm trying to do this with the lipo pads in place but without having to buy the lipo balance weight sets that offset the lipo if I understand it correctly. Thanks!!

Oh while I'm at it, if anyones got a set of the xray balance weights that have the brackets with it they want to sell please let me know. Amain is out now. Any other recommendations to offset a lipo in the 009 without this set?

I use a PPD plate and just let my battery hang over about 2mm. Has very good side to side balance. You might try Nexus Racing and find the weights and brackets.

I just so happened to pick up a ppd plate from a friend today! Looks like I'm going to have to do a bit of dremel work so it clears the post. So, if I understand you correctly, basically just use the ppd plate, slide the lipo just enough out to where the top deck doesn't even come into play and tape the lipo in??
Checked nexus already, out of stock as well.! Amain had them 2 days ago but at that time I was unsure on the smc 5200 24c or the thunder power 40c which had the humps on it. Well I chose the smc(hope I made the right choice, lol) which is a flat bottom pack so now I'd really like to have the balance weights! But I'll give your recommendation a try Thursday when I actually have the smc in hand! Thanks! Any chance you can post a pic of your install with the ppd plate?? Also, do most people go ahead and attach the ppd plate to the lipo? Or just drop it in and tape the lipo as normal without a plate?

Right now I have the electronics out of the car but I will post a picture of it late tonight. I use a Core 5000 pack and it goes under the rear of the top deck. I also used servo tape to hold the battery to the plate to keep it from moving (not much or it will be real hard to get off). Then tape them both to the car with battery tape. To make the PPD plate miss the post you should only have to remove a small corner for it to fit (rear). PM me your email and I will send you some good picts. Hope this helps.

You may need to replace the bladder as they can swell.

I'm running the SMC 5200 packs in my 009 with a PPD plate for balance. Just fits under the top deck with the lipo kit. If your not using a plate...lotsa room.

You may have something there, the 009 is still a great car but, don't be afraid of the T3. I know there's a bit of hatin going on with the new car but I've had no trouble with mine. I have both, and there both worthy.

I made my own lipo weights/tray out of some aluminium I had in the shed. Basically the same as the Xray ones, just $50 cheaper No one had them in stock when I was looking a month or so ago either.

BTW - what is a ppd plate?

Does anyone know if the t3 lipo backstops will work with the t2 009? I believe it's part number 306182. If it will fit does it offset the lipo like the balance weights(part 309860 I believe) do?
